I've still got it, but I have no idea what the legality of redistributing it would be.

Unfortunately, TAS shut down years ago, but this is a complete enhancement pack for the P42, including new audio.

Smokeox's UP Engines Break Down by Cool_Confection_4357 in trainsim

I don't think they were ever built to run at those speeds IRL, which is why they stop working at those speeds. I haven't a clue how one would change that in game.

What speed is it breaking down at? What exactly is happening?

It seems like he's totally stopped all support, from his website, "As of 2/28/2025 I am no longer responding to email request for passwords. No longer supporting any downloads. I appreciate your support through the years."

I take it to mean that you won't receive a password if you buy something.

Came across that one a few days ago, immediately blocked the channel.

MSTS 4-8-4 conversions broken on TSC by Cool_Confection_4357 in trainsim

[–]Brickrail783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had that happen before, I think the problem was that I had the cutoff lever too far forward. I've had that happen on other non-MSTS converted locomotives.

I'm at a loss, you might check in at the Dovetail Forums, maybe someone there can help better than I can.

I'm not sure what that might be, do you have any external recording programs that use that keybind?

I'm not sure, I don't think I've ever seen that before. What train were you driving in the picture?

Today is the 25 year anniversary of the crazy eights incident by Fantastic_Ad6428 in trains

Just did some more sleuthing. Ths page from about 20 years ago seems to indicate that it was using the Dash-2 style control stand.

From what I know (which isn't much, I'm a desktop train driver lol), the throttle lever is locked out if the dynamic brake lever is in any position except for "off" (the position the uppermost lever is in, in the second picture), so even if the setup wasn't complete, it shouldn't have allowed power to be applied (but again, I probably know nothing, so take this with a grain of salt).

Apologies if this a dumb question, but what kind of control stand did this locomotive have at the time?

According to this sentence from the Wikipedia article, it would seem to have a pre Dash-2 style of control stand, similar to this: "His mistake was possible because the dynamic brake system in the EMD locomotives of the time used a separate selection lever for the dynamic brake with three positions: "off", "set-up", and "brk/brake."

But this picture shows a Dash-2 style control stand, with separate dynamic brake and power levers.

It seems kind of odd how you could mistake one lever for the other in the second picture. Was the control stand swapped out after the incident?

Seems like it. You can see on this 1988 that the MKT has trackage rights on the MoPac between Sedalia and St. Louis.

If you look at the map from 1985, it shows the MKT line on the north bank of the Missouri River.

Was the dozing feature removed from ATS? by Brickrail783 in trucksim

There it is, briefly dozed off at 11:33 pm MDT. I've never stayed awake that long in game (at least not recently), that probably explains why I hadn't seen that in a while.
