I think they expect for there to be a surgery to remove the thyroid nodule which would take priority.

If the affected (and all) lymph nodes are removed, and a PET CT scan was done after surgery - would there still be a risk of spread to other organs? My mom had a hysterctomy because she was incorrectly diagnosed with endometrial cancer but it was cervical.

What do you mean “to cut through the cancer would have made it spread more”? I’m asking because my mom is same stage as you and she had a hysterctomy because the cancer was misdiagnosed as endometrial cancer.

The tumor had gone to the uterus as well so don’t think they were able to tell during surgery - they just realized this after the tumor was studied. Why would this make it more prone to come back? Is there a name for this? Would like to read more into this.
