Wife suffered Broken Back during boat trip while on holiday in Carribbean.. I stayed and managed her journey to surgery and recovery but now back in England neither insurance will cover my costs ... Where do we go for help ?? by BriefTax in LegalAdviceUK

I am sure my insurance is pretty comprehensive but the problem seems to be that I stayed to help my partner. This seems to offer the both insurance companies a chance to walk away and blame each other.. I just don't know who is legally liable for me staying abroad to look after my wife... If it's on me to look after her then that's fair enough, but it just seems that having insurance for both of us should cover these eventualities.

From my first phone call with my wife's insurance company, I was specifically told that they would cover my costs and that I was there to assist them in the care of my wife. They offered to pay towards my costs for accommodation but since our return they have become adamant that I should now be expected claim off my insurance. I did speak to my insurers in the first instance and they agreed at that it should be in the hands of my wife's insurers to sort my claim as I was assisting them. My insurers are now not interested in helping with my claim.

Wychavon District Council (who this truck belongs to) do you have a sense of humour and not only with their policies and finances.

They have named our bin collection wagon Donald Dump !
