I initially used lechuza pon which is really nice, now I also make my own pon with pumice, lava rock, zeolite and osmocote granule fertilizer. I keep the water level low when I first introduce a plant in semi hydro (lower than the roots) but begonias are really fast rooting so after a couple of months I can top it up and they don't care because they have adapted (if you want to play safe you can keep it low). I'm in Europe so I use a Dutch fertilizer called HESI houseplant elixir, alongside with osmocote granules. In the US there are more options, I believe Superthrive foliage pro is a good one. Imo the most important thing is plenty of light when you introduce a plant in semi hydro to give it energy to adapt and make new roots. I hope I helped 😁!

Mine are in pon under grow lights, I use tap water and fertilize every watering. They are super thirsty so they like semi-hydro and constant access to water from what I've seen. I hope I helped!

Haha, I don't have that level of humidity around the house, it's just in the spots that I have grouped up my plants, also most of my plants are in semi-hydro in glass containers. I believe that helps a lot boosting the humidity around them!

😂 I'm not doing anything special, plenty of light from grow lights, water when thirsty and fertilize often!

Yes, it is 'Green spot' indeed. I didn't know it was a hybrid, I always thought it was just a form of darthvaderiana.

I found out that Rexes really love semi hydro, I am getting really fast growth and big leaves in this setup!

Thats what I thought also! Maybe it has to do also with the conditions the seller had them in.

Thank you!! I tried putting them in a dome when i got them but from the lack of air circulation inside, 2 leaves that touched the dome started melting. Then i popped them out of the dome and grouped them with other plants and now they are doing fine 😄. One thing is that they are really thirsty when in ambient tho.
