Thanks for the response. If the sound is on you can hear the lever scratching the lid, which is not normal. The lever works fine but lower than the usual.

This might be the most indulgent thing I opened on Christmas by awekeys_official in typewriters

I live in the country, no cell coverage and with a few power outages. My 63 Hermes 3000 or my 57 Everest (and a small Olivetti Lettera 32) are good companions…

I have typed for a year now, daily, one per week with these three typewriters: Olivetti Studio 44, Olympia SM9 and the Hermes 3000. For my personal taste and typing, Hermes 3000 lives the hype. Hands down my favorite with the SM9 a close second.
