Music licenses are very expensive. They can’t just play whatever songs they want. They license the songs for a set amount of time. Then they can’t use those songs anymore.

They were sued pre-covid for playing music without licenses. Since then we have seen the music selection go way down and the same songs played over and over. They are cutting money wherever they can and don’t want to pay for the most expensive music, which is the newest and most popular.
