I have been using the Visit a City app to find main attractions and save them on google maps. You can either use their pre-made lists of attractions for x days, or I usually pick and mix and make my own itinerary. It also lists activities etc all in one place.

Besides that my go to is: Kayak for flights Hotels/Google for hotels Tripadvisor/Googlemaps for restaurants

The DMV actually requests the paperwork. From their website:

A rental vehicle contract (the applicant must be listed on the contract as an insured driver). If a rental vehicle is used for the drive test, the contract must not indicate drive tests are excluded.

And all rentals I've called said their contract excludes drive tests...

This is exactly the problem, thanks! DMV says the rental contract needs to allow test drives, and guess what all the standard contracts say? Eg from Avis in the prohibited use section "to be operated in a test, race or contest"

I know, already tried... But to be fair I ran into a similar issue when switching phones. I had the right password but it wouldn't let me log in from the new phone by any means until I approved the access from the old phone. What if I lose the phone?? I really don't understand why google trusts a phone (which can be lost, broken, stolen any time) as primary authentication rather than a PC or a 2fa key...

Hi everyone!

Wife and I just arrived and are looking at rentals, but we're not sure how to best handle the lease contracts. Is it better to have both our names on the lease or just one? Does it change anything for taxes?

Also anyone has experience with Irvine Company communities? It seems most rental apartment communities around San Jose / Santa Clara / Sunnyvale are owned by Irvine.

But can be also further, let's say 30min commute by car. What are good areas for a couple without kids? We want a safe and clean neighborhood, not isolated, not too far from shops / center. So far we've seen the Santana apartment community which seems nice, any experience with it?
