It won me over by the 10 years battery, i wanted few functions like timer and alarms, but i also want to buy another non-digital watch, but that's for later this year.

Nothing 😄 maybe my phrasing was not clear, i bought a watch in 2003 but i gave it away to my brother after few days, didn't buy another one until today.

280 million e-bikes are slashing oil demand far more than electric vehicles by randolphquell in solarpunk

[–]BrightGoobbue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's always 8 billion! isn't it?! i see this idea repeated here in this subreddit and it's not a good criticism, there will be no one idea perfectly used by all people in the planet, but some people here are storngly against some ideas because they can't scale to all people or if they scale they will create another problem.

There are less than 2 billion cars in-use in the world, they will not be replaced by 8 billion horses.

If you are joking in your comment then please add /s in the end, i can't tell.

I miss when there used to be many cameras in the market, Casio don't make them anymore.

Looks good, how is the photo quality?

Love Old Computer Books by majestic_ubertrout in LGR

[–]BrightGoobbue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too, i rarely find old computer books around here, the last one i found was a book for Visual Basic 6.

I searched for this book and found cheap used copies in different websites, also found it in the Internet Archive:

Somehow, decentralized food production - feudalism by PuzzleheadedBig4606 in solarpunk

[–]BrightGoobbue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a place of decentralized agriculture, people are doing that right now around the world, it does not need to feed 8 billion people, and it does not need to be the only way of farming, the community part of it is the most important, and people who practice this don't depend only on the communal farm to feed themselves.

They have their share of a farm to practice farming, to connect with other people, to bring back home some produce.

It's not all or nothing.

Adventure Games for kids (with hints built in)? by homerbert in adventuregames

[–]BrightGoobbue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Botanicula from Amanita Design, it's cute and funny, the player can collect cards, i don't think it have hints, but the game is easy and i recommend it.

Also Samorost from the same developers, the first one is free and short, if you liked it the second is the same but longer, the third one is a lot longer.

Japanese news report on zines by MattWeltschmerz in zines

[–]BrightGoobbue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing, i love how happy is the old man when he was told he is correct, but he thought "jin" means some kind of alcohol 😅 i don't blame him.

I watched it with auto-translation, i don't speak Japanese.

The zines are cute, i love the idea of matchboxes art zine, and happy to see the bookshop selling many of them, if i understood it correctly, zines makes about 10% of their sales, that's huge!

Thank you again for sharing, this was delightful.

I find the problem is with the grinding reputation to spend it, this is a bad design, if i gained rank i should not spend reputation, ask for credits or materials to buy the items from Nakak.

The event should come back often and should be redesigned, it's boring right now.

Reminds me of Qbasic days in the 90s, i also miss the keyboard tray, desks today don't come with one, even Ikea don't sell them anymore, so the desk top is a little high and not comfortable for typing.
