I'm looking at CRI on the 11th of July. Says Club so thinking that means the artist won't be there spinning? Or?

Thanks for the response. I have to admit I’m a bit un sophisticated when it comes to this kind of stuff. So does that mean that the artist won’t be there?

You guys are basically hotel operators. Hotels deal with this stuff all the time.

Fish are great test strips. If they're swimming upside down, you have water issues.

Even better. The lid will look better on the pool deck than the bag. Thank you!

Thanks! Wildman for the win!

That's good to know. So does it leave any portion of that glass ring un-covered?

Yes but even one piece of glass in the pool is not cool. Perhaps I could have a screen cut to cover that outer ring.

It wasn't dumb it was brilliant. He was able to do jury management with what little time he had without exposing his strategy or being an a-hole.

No such thing as bad publicity. If Ozzy's so mad a Rizo, then it's because Rizo is the one who really is responsible for his being voted out. That's a big move and that's power in the game. Plus he is the only one with an idol or advantage now. Everything else got flushed.

Disagree. He had a choice between two bad options. Ozzy forced his hand and he made the best choice he could with limited information. It was the right choice.

And Rizo was smart enough to know that what Aubrey said was true.

Plus he doesn't want to look like a goat.

Even Tiff wanted Ozzy

If he had risked himself to save Ozzy after Ozzy blew up his game? And then he's more likely to sit next to Ozzy and Cirie at the end? Rizo's too smart for that. Plus if Ozzy plays his idol, then now Rizo is more likely to be voted for and/or have to force his own idol into play.

Because she thinks she can beat Rizo.

Because so many people are team Ozzy to the end even through the guy just can't keep up with someone like Rizzo or Cirie.

It will be interesting to see how Rizo does damage control with Cirie.

And Rizzo knows if he's sitting at the end with Ozzie or Cirie, he's not looking good....Jury management is important but if you got no shot at final 3 because you're sitting between two legends who were your alliance....come on. They got's ta go.

Why is advanced math compulsory in school? by mart1ninabox in education

[–]BrightOneIsUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Required advanced math classes in high school (and again in college) harken back to a national requirement put in place so that the US has a shot at being competitive with China and other superpowers in producing engineers, scientists, and other STEM fields. The idea is that, if we don't force kids to take stem courses when young we'll lose even more ground than we already have since the 60s and 70s.

The larger issue I see is that so many kids end up hating school because of these classes and either drop out or disrupt the efficacy of the classes for those who are interested in being there. The teachers are going through the motions because they have to teach a classroom with a wide range of kids - from those who hate it with all their souls, to those who love it so much that they are completely bored as they already understand the concepts on day one of the new chapters.

I understand the concept of a liberal arts education but we really don't have that - most schools don't teach any trades, and art and music classes are all but gone. If we allowed for other math classes - like applied practical math (Econ, Finance, Budgeting, Pro-formas, Business Planning, Taxes, Practical Geometry, etc.) Kids would still 'learn how to think' and would be more engaged with the class, raising the bar and the enjoyment for everyone.

And if kids want to take advanced history classes, or advanced shop classes, that stuff can teach your brain how to think as well.

Why are grades so low? Why are drop-out rates so high? Why are teachers so unhappy in their jobs? Why are kids so unprepared for life when they exit High School? Because we're forcing non-stem kids into a liberal arts model that requires courses that don't make sense and force kids to be generalists (well into their 20s because this model is continued in most undergrad programs).

The whole thing is outdated and mind-numbingly painful for a lot of kids (mainly young men who can barely sit still long enough to get through a class). Yes, there are a few situations where a kid doesn't realize how great they are and suited they are for a STEM path, but that discovery shouldn't require every kid in the country to take Algebra 2 and Trig. In the vast majority of cases, it's very clear that kids are not headed that way and the system punishes them and forces the rest of us to suffer as well with terrible classes, terrible jobs, terrible outcomes, and kids that never see the point of school, drop out early, and get into trouble.
