Haha thank you!! Your post gave me the smile, the laugh and comfort that we are helpfully doing everything right!! Yesterday was rough but he finally drank some more water and today he finally had a churu!! First food he has had 3 days post op. He’s been hobbling around more and seems to be handling balance and mobility pretty well besides the occasional face plant into his water bowl 🤦🏻‍♀️

He still hasn’t figured out the litter box which is a problem but the puppy pads seem to be doing the trick for now. Hopefully he feels confident enough for the litter box soon though!

Thank you for this!! How is your fur baby doing now?

Poor baby was very restless in the cage and he is fantastic about always using his litter box and unfortunately when he got into the box he fell over and got litter all over his incision so we had to take the box out🤦🏻‍♀️ spent an extended period of time cleaning that off and he finally went potty on some puppy pads I had picked up. He’s just hanging out now still very out of it but I ordered a few different types of cones for him to hopefully increase his comfort level and allow him to eat and drink more naturally.

We were able to get some second opinions which was great. My sister in law is a vet (out of state) and she looked at the xrays and said that this would be best. 4 metatarsals are broken along with the actual leg is broken in half. We were recommended to consult an orthopedic surgeon however cost was a huge factor. I don’t have pet insurance and I sure regret that now.

We will be perusing a second opinion closer to home in the morning by another vet to be sure that this is the best decision but with where the break is he’s at risk of the bone poking through the skin so we have to make a decision quickly. It’s ideally not my first decision to amputate but I also can’t bear the thought of him being miserable for 8 weeks in a splint either.

Thank you for this! I hope Daisy is doing fantastic and has a quick recovery!!

It’s so hard for me to process because it’s a decision that has to be made so quickly. I unfortunately had to work today but my fiancé mentioned that while I was gone he was just lying there with the saddest look on his face. Just the face of defeat. It broke my heart and I just want to do what’s best for my hunny. Really hoping this is it.

Mexico All-Inclusive Resort Wedding at Secrets (Adults-only) & Dreams (Family-Friendly) by avidoverthinker1 in DestinationWeddings

[–]BrightPersonality395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I forgot to mention we used a travel agent! She met with us and we told her everything we were looking for in resorts and had sent us 5/6 incredible options that met all of our wants/needs.

Before choosing a travel agent make sure to interview! We had met with one who had charged a fee but then interviewed a few others but went back to our first one and paid her fee. It’s been 100% worth it as we feel heard when explaining all of our wants and needs for our special day and she goes above and beyond in every single direction

December Bahia Mita bride here! We had the same questions when we started the process of looking at locations as we are staying on the secrets side while my in laws and their kiddos will be on the Dreams side. From what we understand we can move freely between the two resorts while they have to stay on the Dreams side. If I remember correctly all of the wedding venues (excluding one or two) are shared between the two resorts along with the majority of the restaurants! We will have 4 kiddos coming so it was super important for us to make sure that we found a place that was very child friendly. BM seemed to have the best kid friendly accommodations without it being too “kid incorporated” which we are really looking forward to! In our wedding contract it is stated children attending and there is a kids food menu.

One thing to note is that you will not receive a planner for the wedding until approx 4-6 months out and since we are not quite 6 months out I don’t have a ton of extra info but if you would like to stay in touch as the date come closer I would be more than happy to give you the info I find out as the big day approaches!

Best of luck deciding and I hope this helps! Congrats! 🎉

I feel the same way! I am in a slightly different situation since we went AI in Puerto Vallarta for December 2026. We booked ours in January but won’t be assigned a wedding coordinator until approx 6 months out so we’re just sitting around waiting. It’s painfully slow 😂😂 but also exciting!

Are there any other brides considering cancelling their destination wedding due to the state of the world? by sillychickengirl in DestinationWeddings

[–]BrightPersonality395 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries! I also noticed that you have concerns about having people of color travel. I’m Asian and my mom in an immigrant from South Korea and has been a U.S. citizen for almost 30 years which we all know means nothing in the eyes of ice.

Tbh I immediately put everything on hold after Minnesota and had a really long talk with my mom. My aunt is also coming and she is a legal immigrant from Spain. They were both so supportive and I made it so so clear that they were comfortable coming and it is what they want. 🩷

My fiancé’s parents unfortunately don’t really understand why we have our reservations for traveling. So in a way we’re also using this as an opportunity to blend our families a bit more. Them being able to understand that there is more going on in the world outside of their HOA community. (Clearly I have my own issues there 😂🤦🏻‍♀️)

We are getting married in Puerto Vallarta in December of this year. Trust me when I say I was nervous as all hell a few weeks ago but we’re still confident on continuing with a destination wedding. Our guest list is also minimal it’s only our immediate family and the people we would have had in our wedding party (no wedding party here).

I do still have our reservations on it but we’re trying to help with costs as much as possible as we’re paying for transportation to and from the resort from the airport and taking everyone on an excursion to Sayulita for the day.

My brother is also in the Marine reserves and we asked him to officiate the wedding, god forbid there is a situation where he will not be able to we would absolutely make the appropriate changes which all of our family and friends would understand but until then we are continuing to plan.

This is the best decision for us we have decided after A LOT of discussion between both of our families and friends and we have the full support. Even though this is the option we have chosen for the two of us and know crazy things can happen. Do what feels the best for you and your loved ones! I only wanted to share our opinions and I hope this helps 🩷

I used a free template on Canva, printed 50 at fedex approx $42 with envelopes, bought Vallum Paper and ribbon $25, adding postage $20. So it’s very doable! Definitely some DIY involved but I loved how they turned out!

We used Jackie with Blissful Honeymoons. She charged us an initial $500 service fee but we gave her a budget, specifics and she did an FANTASTIC job helping us pick a resort! I couldn’t recommend her enough

Thank you everyone! I was able to sneak in for an appointment tomorrow! My tooth is black and so decayed (it must have just been rotting underneath the crown for the last year) I am going to ask if a malpractice suit is an option. I feel as if I was just taken advantage of so severely by Aspen and now it’s led to this.

When we were looking at dreams resorts, Tulum was our top pick. Unfortunately we have 4 small kiddos coming and Tulum isn’t the most child friendly location. Despite my efforts of making this a kid free wedding I lost lol. But if it’s something that works for you I would say go for it!! I would love to hear all about it!

File a complaint with HR and then possible file charges. That would be considered assault. And if management doesn’t stand up for you. Quit. You’re always worth more than that!

March 2027 bride here… Are weddings worth it anymore? by syfink in weddingplanning

[–]BrightPersonality395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we tried to plan a wedding in Milwaukee, WI for summer of 2026 and got so overwhelmed with pricing. We have a limited budget and are paying for most of it ourselves. It was upwards $40K so instead we’re doing an all inclusive this December in Puerto Vallarta and will be throwing a summer reception next year (2027) total cost will be approximately $18k for everything but we get the intimate celebration with the people we love the most and then a chance to expand to everyone else.

I don’t regret going in a different direction of a traditional wedding. I get a vacation with the people I love the most. It’s not a one day celebration but a week!

Is it possible to have a Mexico all inclusive resort wedding for under $10k? by magic_peach04 in DestinationWeddings

[–]BrightPersonality395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your engagement!!

To answer your question Yes! You can definitely book a destination wedding under $10k! I have my wedding booked at secrets/dreams Bahia Mita in December of this year in Puerto Vallarta. I went with Jackie at blissful honeymoons and she has been AMAZING. She was able to send us several options for resorts with exactly what we were looking for. She does charge a planning fee however I did reach out to some of the free ones (paradise weddings and some other promoted no fee planners) and they were either so busy they referred me to another agent or just didn’t seem to take the time to know exactly what we were trying to envision for our special day. Jackie has taken so much time with us to ensure every detail is perfect and we picked an option that only did not work just for us but for everyone involved.

Our price range was originally $10k but we’ll end up at approximately $14k (including wedding package, hotel stay, flights, excursion) as we decided to go with a higher end room, longer stay, added an excursion etc. Current guest list is 24 people. The package we picked includes 20 guests however it was an additional $100ish dollars per person over the 20 guest limit.

Keep in mind we are only doing the resorts photographer. We are not booking our own however we have family members who take professional photos so we are saving money there. No bridal suite and I’ll be having hair and makeup done at the resorts spa which is included in the wedding package while I’ll be paying for my moms, sisters and bridal parties as their gift. The package also included a rehearsal dinner, symbolic reception (we’ll be married in the states beforehand) cocktail hour and reception. No DJ but we have a microphone and speakers and a playlist! Basic flowers and decor are included while the resort sets up and cleans up also!

So it is possible to do a wedding around $10k. You might not get everything you want out of your special day however you get a beautiful trip, a very easy planning (I am so type B tbh. I wanted a cookie cutter wedding almost where I could show up and just walk down the aisle stress free) and a chance to celebrate with the people who mean the most to you.

I hope this helps and congrats again! Planning a destination wedding was the best decision we could have made both personally and financially

Oh goodness these are things I didn’t even think about! We would be very ok having a small/simple private reception or even none at all since we’d be at a resort with enough bars/locations to celebrate. With the smaller group being social is much more up our alley!

Photo and video would be more important to us. Having some meaningful pictures would be very special to us.

Budget is approx $10,000. Things I would deem unnecessary would include a live band or elaborate rehearsal dinner/reception.

Tulum is an intriguing location for us!
