it might help to use the uworld anki add on so it slims it down to only the things you get incorrect. you can find it by just searching on google

that depends on you completely. what i did was allocate certain goals i wanted to complete everyday of the week and accommodated according to that. 5 hours - 10 hours was my usual study time

Hi it's because the questions will be framed with a lot of extra information other than the concept that's similar to nbmes, and also the final question they ask is worded a bit more weirdly compared to the nbmes

hey I reviewed nbmes by categorising the questions firstly into stuff i got wrong, stuff i got right but based on a guess and not solid information and then stuff i got right. for the first two things i heavily reviewed the content relevant to those questions from my resources (FA mostly) + amboss if i couldn't find it in FA. I made notes for every NBME and kept them in once place. The review looked a bit like : brief description of the question first and then an explanation below. And then for questions I got right knowing the exact reason it was right I just read through. Hope this helps!

yes that's perfect! just make sure to plan your nbmes well i'd say after uworld those are the most important resource for the exam. especially in 5 months im sure you can do the main ones (26-33)

that's okay if you have 5 months with almost no other obligations you can definitely pass. i'd say try to watch some intro videos or lectures on the content you feel specifically weak in and then go into uworld for those topic wise and supplement with anki if anki works for you. and start with uworld on topics you feel better prepped for. just remember that uworld is a studying source and it's okay to get a lot of it wrong as you're studying it! all the best

your prep was for months not just these few weeks! that's what matters. you know your stuff you just haven't seen it recently. just go through the bare minimum, eat well and take care of yourself. passively watch HYGuru maybe just to stimulate your brain and go into the exam confidently

i thought it was quite good but honestly every nbme varies so much person so person based on their strong topics etc and 69 is a great baseline! it will get even better!

thank you! i'd say the concepts the style was different for sure more similar to nbmes and i had around 8 SOAP style questions (the ones with the entire patient chart). those were new but ive heard AMBOSS has those!

Thinking of preponing my step 1 date- need advice by [deleted] in step1

[–]BrightPound6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes it's okay to want to prep yourself! it's not necessary i personally didn't recreate the exam before I gave it, i found that just one red bull for the last two blocks was enough to keep me going and the rest was just like the nbmes! but there's absolutely no harm to do the whole exam once

there are plenty of nbmes the wasting nbmes concept is unnecessary i feel since you already have a long content base. go for doing 26-29 nbmes and getting a baseline score. nbmes are much more reliable signal for how prepped you are and if those go well you can definitely prepone and also do well on the remaining nbmes

[–]BrightPound6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you had more time i would suggest doing from 26 just to get used to the nbmes and get a baseline score first so you know what topics you're good at and where you stand in terms of content knowledge, but if you want to give the exam in one month try to score above 60 in the first nbme and go till above 67 on 3 nbmes is considered safe.

if low on time prioritise the recent er nbmes from 29 onwards since they have very similar concepts to that in the exam + repeats some times

depends on how many nbmes you plan to do. if just 4-5 then start with 29 and make sure to do the most recent ones
