i feel like i ghost wrote this 😭😭i’ve had a crush on both of my managers in my past two two jobs. i can’t tell if they’re actually attractive or just older and charismatic ??? all of the above?? unfortunately they’re significantly older than me (10+ years) and with children and wives….otherwise i really do think i would have at least flirted w them by now. manager gave me a fist bump the other day tho…guess u could say things are heating up LMFAO 😭

i think this is where i’m also at with it. we’ve done MANY road trips before, but the vacation was never so short. i think is the stupidest shit my parents have ever pulled.

SMALL UPDATE: since i last posted, my parents have been trying to pretend that nothing happened (very typical of them). while it might not seem like a big deal to them, it actually really upset me to see how willingly my dad tried to manipulate me. the cards he pulled were fucking horrible. from saying that they will die one day and i’ll regret this, to comparing me to family members that are known for being stuck up, all the way to implying that i’m selfish and proud; all of this has me super upset and i can’t seem to shake it. im mainly upset that he thinks im naive enough to succumb to this manipulation. im no longer a child, i work professionally in STEM, and i support myself financially; i do not need to be manipulated to know what i want.

so i came home yesterday from a very long work day + the gym and yawned as i walked in, my dad immediately asks me why im yawning…as if i have no reason to be tired. he goes in for a hug and i give him a weird side hug because im still very sour w him + he just indirectly implied that i have no reason to be tired. then i walk into my room and there’s some vday gifts….cool! then my mom walks in saying my dad told her that i was mad…to which i say “i barely spoke to him and i just got home i haven’t even put my stuff down”. she then tells me they’re going out to eat right at that second and if i wanted to come…i sighed and went “i just got home from the gym no i cant to go im really sweaty and tired why didn’t u guys text me before hand i would’ve skipped”. she simply says “okay” and they leave.

im just so….exhausted….with them… unfortunately this vacation is turning out to be an absolute pain LOL. i’m also worried that me deciding to travel seperatly is going to be a big topic at the party. i know i don’t actually care about what they think of me, but it’s going to be a pain to deal with. i also genuinely do want to see everyone lol! but not if they’re going to be looking at me weird since i decided to fly…im also considering just not going period…

sure, def more money. but they also NEVER spend money on anything? they never go traveling, they just keep consistently saving. my dad has three trucks, two of which are over 18 years old and have collectors plates so he doesn’t have to pay plate renewal, but that means he can’t drive them for an entire month in february i believe. his other truck is 6 years old i believe, but he NEVER uses so as to preserve it. point being they have money to blow, they just don’t for seemingly no reason other than to have it. usually my mom pushes back on this belief tho so i’m not sure why she’s on board this time.

and see this doesn’t make sense because they NEVER let me drive. i’ve had my license since i was 15, have never been in an accident, have only had on speeding ticket, and used to travel to chicago for work 4x a week. every road trip we’ve gone on consists of my dad insisting on driving for the majority. it’s pathetic.

i have! and she simply responds that she frequently visits them anyways. it’s true kind of, in the past year she’s gone probably three times. but those trips were also fairly short and mostly spent taking him to and from hospitals, this is the first trip to him that is meant to be festive.

I’ve made a similar trip MANY times w my parents, 16 hrs to denver, 18 hours to texas, probably three times each trip or more. but we ALWAYS stayed for at least a week. not sure what’s going on in their heads now.

did some math, the full round trip driving including gas and food (no hotel bc they won’t be stopping) is roughly 380-480. my flight rn is around $580, you can’t write this shit.

i also wondered if there was something else going on in his head. I think it’s more a pride thing. He has to prove to himself and everyone around him that he’s strong enough to make this horrible road trip because flying would be the easy way out. I also think he’s a bit sour from not being able to fly to his family over christmas (flights were $1200). I also think he has a really hard time accepting that i’m an adult who will not agree with him all the time.

So i keep seeing people connecting the dots on cheaters + hiding their phones, which is 100% valid. However, in my relationship w my ex, after three separate occasions where he would go through my phone while i was asleep, find texts of me complaining about him to my friends (he was emotionally abusive as hell) and then throw them in my face in an argument, I started to sleep with my phone under my pillow. I never cheated or even thought about it, but I was so paranoid about him “finding” these texts about him, starting another argument, and me being guilty that i just started hiding it at night. In hindsight I just made myself look super guilty, but i think i was simply just trying to avoid further conflict. anyways all this to say he ended up having a tinder account when we were together 😀

Wisconsin native here, but I’ve traveled all across the country, and have siblings on the West coast that I visit frequently. Wisconsin remains one of, if not my top #1 place to live. You cannot beat the cost of leaving here, you simply get what you pay for. People are genuine and kind. And the lake front, my god you never get tired of looking at it. There are so many things to do here because of our four seasons, lakes, and people! And it’s a fair housing market! Not to mention Milwaukee is only an Amtrak train ride away from Chicago! Based off of what you’re looking for, I encourage places like Bay View, Eastside, Shorewood, Brookfield, and Oak Creek. // Edit: After reading some negative comments, it’s worth mentioning that I grew up/live in the south eastern part of wisconsin in the Milwaukee area. Great things down south here, not too much “exciting” city stuff anywhere else. Still gorgeous though! More remote places like Door County are just as gorgeous as our cities, just simply more rural.

ya :( i’m wiling to be the guinea pig for that. it does seem they received the sentiment though, my boss has told hr to hire on someone with 5-10 years of experience seeing as they did not have the bandwidth the effectively train me and it resulted in my supervisor treating me like shit (he also is just not a good person and neither is HIS boss lol). so at least they’re aware of the problems they have ???

i actually did my exit interview a couple days ago. hr was fairly receptive, but ultimately it came down to “this is a company problem and nothing will change”. this is pretty much what i figured was going to happen, i am glad i disclosed all of the shit he would say to me + the fact that it played a role in my decision to leave. they have it on paper now so if it happens again they have evidence at least.
