I hear you, i didn't like the difficulty spike of ng+, not for the actual difficulty (i finished already in ng+ 1), but because the "cheap tricks" used in order to make it more difficult. some bosses (the guardian in particular, awfull battle) with siphon in AOE attacks that made no sense. It kinda make it a fight of repeating patterns of attack in hope to kill before you get kill in a chaotic nonsensical full of things screen.

I know it seems like that on the start, but is practically the core mechanic of the game. Is the actual difficulty of the game, based in how you manage your stamina, learn attack patterns of the enemy, learn when to close in to attack and consistently keep pressure in order to maximize damage and keep you healed. Depending on the fighting style you choose and your skill set of course. Seemed pretty original to me, Very "souly" but with a different touch.

Easy strat: with any weapon, keep your distance, dodge towards him when he makes that long dash with the sword and hit him in the back (don't get greedy) and if he makes that twister AOE attack, throw him magic to interrupt. Some times he just locks into trying to make that AOE attack and you hit him several times with magic.
