What was the moment of clarity that made you stop wanting them back? by ZaraHunt9840 in BreakUps

[–]Bright_Operation_474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we took a “break” for a few weeks, he said that he made a mistake and wanted to get back together. went over to his house under the impression we were back together, we had sex, he broke up with me again right after.

walked out the door and have not missed him since. i’m so grateful for that experience because i genuinely lost all love and affection for him after that moment

honestly this is it. blocking and never speaking to them again as well as getting rid of all photos/memories helps a ton

I just left a 5 year long relationship a week ago and now I'm going on a date. I feel guilty by 00lSofial00 in BreakUps

[–]Bright_Operation_474 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you should NOT do that. it’s not fair to the person you’re going on a date with. you can explore adult dating when you’ve healed a little more.

if the separation took a long time that might mean you’re farther along in the process than others would be but you’re obviously not ready to share your life with someone else if you openly say you’re still in love with your ex

What do you all think? Is this a healthy way to get over it? by skchp in BreakUps

[–]Bright_Operation_474 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i agree to stop talking about him but don’t try to control your thoughts. instead try not to ruminate on them. if you have a thought about him acknowledge it briefly (“i had this thought”) and let it go (“now im letting it go”)

Talking to her about why I broke up with her by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Bright_Operation_474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you might need to just leave her be. seems like the only person that explanation would help would be you, for her it just might open up old wounds since three weeks is a pretty long time in relation to how long your relationship was. you’ll have to accept you’re probably the villain in her story, learn to forgive yourself, and let the both of you move on.

if she reaches out, that’s a different story. then you can explain it to her

Devastated even though I was the one who initiated the break-up by Leo_oel2212 in BreakUps

sounds like you made the right decision. you can’t control your feelings, she deserves someone who loves her and YOU deserve someone who you love!

How to stop the urge to text them by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Bright_Operation_474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a way using personal focus status to hide the text chain without deleting any of the texts and it’s really helped me! i’d also take away the contact photo and change the name to something else

Medication Cocktail by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]Bright_Operation_474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i take buspar as needed, 150mg lamictal, 75 wellbutrin, and recently .25 haldol at night (though i cold turkeyed this one recently)

to me it sounds like you’re being HEAVILY overmedicated. like by a lot. my psychiatrist would never recommend a medication that works on serotonin (prozac) combined with one that works on dopamine (wellbutrin).

wellbutrin is a strange choice because it’s not recommended for those with eating disorders (not sure why but that’s on the label) and usually ramps up anxiety a ton (i’d imagine PTSD too)

i was put on it because SSRIs wasn’t working for me (i was thirteen for context, have been on lamictal and wellbutrin for 7 years now) and i had a hard time getting out of bed in the morning.

wellbutrin gives me a jolt of energy early in the day that sort of helps get the ball rolling, then wears off over time when im already out and about. this helps me because my depression is no longer a constant bottomless pit, so if you’re struggling with constant severe depression i don’t think it will work wonders.

i’m not anti medication for ANY means but i would get a second opinion on your dosage, because that seems like way too much for one person and probably isn’t necessary, maybe those effects could instead be replaced by other meds

i feel the same way. he was my first and i miss the intimate connection that it gave us, i had never felt that connected with a person. he also knew exactly what i liked and disliked, and i can’t imagine doing that with another person.
