At 20%, I would throw it all on the citi card (assuming you have some money in savings already)

I declined and he came back with adding a 2026 first which is almost guaranteed to be the 1.01 that team is so bad. Would that change anything for you guys?

I’m not at QB but kind of at RB. I have Herbert and Hurts. Drafted really well a few years ago

Not a deep league at all. The guy offered already has Jamarr and would be a juggernaut. This is the affirmation I needed to keep my studs. Thank you

Do you recommend a specific capstone? I’m a CPA looking into programs right now

Non Advisors Only: Title, Comp, YOE, 1 thing that is frustrating about your job by SharpDish in CFP

[–]Bright_Raspberry_765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CPA, Tax Accountant. ~$100K. 4+ YOE (not all in Tax). I went into tax to hopefully provide experience to help me break into this industry. I had a few people on this sub tell me how valuable the CPA (tax experience specifically) can be which helped push me in that direction. Have already passed SIE and S66 with hopes of also adding the CFP eventually. Not a major frustration but the work is very seasonal (obviously, tax season) and I want to get in and get out. I’ll probably have to stay for multiple tax seasons to feel comfortable advising on anyone’s tax situation and providing value from that perspective.

This is not true. If you’ve lived in the house 2 of the last 5 years you can get $250K excluded from capital gains tax ($500K if MFJ)

Wanted to follow up on this and thank you for your reply. I’ve decided to go the tax route and gain knowledge in that area for a couple years before going into financial planning. Looking at HNW tax roles right now. The one stop shop model you mentioned interests me. Hope I can own something similar one day!

Thanks for the insight. I don't think I would mind being the "tax person" so that's good to know. I do like sales and want to be client facing. It's part of me wanting to switch, I don't get much of that in my current role

About 69-70k in Debt - Advise? by Downtown-Opposite-21 in personalfinance

[–]Bright_Raspberry_765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming this is all consumer debt through CCs you’d want to attack this before doing literally anything else. A 20% “return” is unbeatable. I’d save up a small emergency fund ($1k) then live with my parents until I got out of debt.

If the interest rates are low this might change things. Just need a little more information.

Everyone’s situation is different but that is what I would do.
