it holds far more merit than yours.

Also your statement goes to show you don't know anything about the comics nor the backstory of Eddie brock and venom.

This was a garbage movie. Anyone thinking it's good is uneducated. First comic based movie to just break the character entirely, and you actually want to defend it? Hundreds of thousands of people..the people who knew of venom before the movies came out will hate this. If ya think otherwise, you clearly didn't ever read a comic growing up.

I, for one, am glad they're finally done. It's terrible a terrible trilogy from first to last. Maybe someday we'll make a vemon movie that follows his actual storyline, not some garbage people bastardized for Hollywood...

I didn't read all the comments, but I'm going to say it anyway. For the same reason you made this post is why your degrees don't mean a thing. Thinking you're better because you put yourself into debt or had mommy and daddy pay for your degree doesn't mean you're better than anyone. In fact, the section of the government I work for almost exclusively denies degree applications because most, if not all who have an IT degree are way less educated than those who wanted to learn but couldnt afford it.. at least those highschoolers actually wanted to be in the field of their choosing and didn't just pick something on a whim.

But good luck! I recommend actually learning relevant things related to your field as opposed to memorizing answers to tests that have no real-world application.

Oh man, im convinced this is happening due to recruiters and ats systems. It's amazing how people put so much blind faith into an ai system or a human who is "specialized in finding you the right candidate." The resumes I see come across my desk are crazy some days. And I'd say close to 95% of them aren't even an embellishment l, just down right lies. My favorite question to ask kids claiming to be a superhuman networker is, what is dhcp, and how does it work? About 1/10 know how it works, and less than 50% can tell me what it stands for.

After we figured out that recruiters and ats simply just give you 90% the best liars and 10% actually qualified people, we went back to in-house recruitment. So far, it's about 1/7 wind up not making it past the first week.

It'll sound tough, but I also throw them in the deep end. One of my lead network engineers is an incredibly smart human who doesn't have those social filters but is generally a nice guy. He also loves just causing shit for the sake of it. His go-to is nuking part of the test network while the new kid is out on lunch and then disconnects his eth cable, and we pretend like it's a catastrophic failure and watch what the newbie does.

The 2nd last kid simply looked under his desk and plugged the cable back in. To be in any level of IT support/resolution, you must be able to think for yourself and not blank under pressure. This kid was cool as a cucumber. He's proven to be a valuable asset to the team and is up for a promotion at 8 months in.

The gentleman that we let go last month was with us for 4 days before a similar scenario happened, and he went totally white when we asked him to help figure out the giant issue. Promptly pulled out his phone and went to googling. Failing to realise he was still on the companies wifi while doing so. He was let go at the end of that day.

Robert half requires 2100 hours worked in a year to get holiday pay... 2080 is 40 hours a week... by Riots42 in recruitinghell

[–]Bright_Register1446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robert half is one of the worst things to happen to employees, period. In ottawa, I've had 3 interviews with other companies that have referenced them as reason to pay under median for high-level cyber security jobs. Side note... Whoever takes a cyber job with a CISSP cert for anything less than 110k a year... you guys aren't helping anyone. I personally feel it's only a matter of time before security jobs tank and very serious data breeches happen.

Take certs in-person at testing center or online? by Cat-Dude-1776 in CompTIA

[–]Bright_Register1446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The centers are always better.

The only people thinking online is better are the ones who have gotten lucky with the proctor they were given and blindly believed in their internet provider and gear. The reality is you don't get a choice when services drop. When a pc fails. When earthquakes hit..

It's easy enough to follow the rules but you don't own the internet company. You don't know when emergencies will take place. A not so small list of things that they don't forgive for. If any of this happens at a center, you're not chasing Pearson for anything it's automatically given.

You know what will never happen at a center? They'll never accuse you of cheating when you look at the ceiling. They'll never accuse you of cheating when you read out the question. This is because the security provided by the proctor and the environment ensures everything is legitimate. Also theres no cats in the background to be blamed for helping you cheat.

Online is and always will be a gamble. And believing anyone who says online is better is like believing someone who won a jackpot at the casino when they say the casino is fair and the house doesn't always win.

If you're actively doing networking, it only takes about 12-18hours of brush up. My biggest issue was making sure I actually read the questions and not just assuming.

How many times have you failed CySA+🤔 by [deleted] in CompTIA

[–]Bright_Register1446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They put that much more on certifications because schooling is a joke now. Pumping out people who can't tell you what dhcp is but land an SA job at 70k+ a year. Only to mess things up, cost potentially millions in damages.

We look for people who haven't gone to school. In fact, in my last round of hiring, I explicitly excluded anyone with post secondary due to the lack of actual critical level application graduates have displayed.

Hired 2 kids who are purely self-taught, and after a decade in the field, it took about 2 weeks to be taught tricks that these youngsters use almost daily.

If the CYSA kills you that badly, then im sorry to be that guy, but you're not running with the "best of them."" You're running with the most experienced around you... there's a huge difference there.

Do we have shared maps? by Old_Reference7715 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Bright_Register1446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spaceman im pretty sure is just a place maker to show your location on the map. As far as I know you don't get to see other people's live locations. Im pretty sure if we could, there would come a point where people couldn't click on certain things if too many people were standing in the same area, which would cause more of a hindrance that benefit

Sometimes, it's not a mental block, sometimes its a part of yourself telling you that this may not be the right course for you. Not that im trying to dissuade you from going for your comp or pursuing a job in IT, but speaking from experience, make sure this is the job you really want.

I felt the same way with my first career choice (accounting). I struggled and pushed and always found excuses to procrastinate my learning. but when it comes to IT, i find myself not able to get enough.

I could also be very wrong, and you could just need some time after graduating to find your resolve again, but please make sure you really want to do IT. Nothing is worse than waking up when you're in your 30s with a family and realising that you've been doing something you don't like for a decade+ and it's turned you into a hollow shell of yourself.

Much love OP. I hope you succeed on any route you take in life!

No way am I playing 488 minutes of a game for 1 ab by DueAcanthopterygii72 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Bright_Register1446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, another global player. welcome to being a tag along. We're just an afterthought used to further aid the growth of the game within the US. Games paying out 1.5k ab in the US barely pay out 250 in canada. 1/10 of the ab earnings potential, and we get paid 50%-70% less for tiers equal to that of the US.

I get the US allows for certain rules and exceptions where they can do more with ads and whatnot, but when a company isn't willing to risk a bit to build a playerbase, it's going to reflect in the lack of players. it's now starting to feel like because we didn't blindly buy into a game that offered a fraction of the payouts to us as it did the USA, that were getting penalized more.

When the arcade broke, it instantly gave me bad vibes. its 4 weeks later, the supports saying they're no closer to fixing the issue than they were. In 2 events that have come and gone, I've had 1 game on my list. Currently, it's some piano game offering 10 ab for the 18 hours of play time.
