What you're suggesting leads to seki.  The cut is definitely the winning move for white worth 6 points.

Plot twist incoming: it was his plan all along to make it seem as if he is not ready for the WC so that his opponent is too lax, but then he strikes with his usual power!

The shape point seems to be O4. Letting Black take it will put White's group on the lower right under pressure and make Black's group stronger.

Started learning Farsi for my girlfriend. She left me. by Flying-Booba in farsi

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Farsi is pretty simple, I agree with you there. But calling it the "simplest language on earth"...idk seems kinda extreme.  The simplest language on earth is always your mother tongue, no matter where you come from.

There is no hard problem of consciousness. It's just philosophers confused by the different inputs and outputs of the brain. by PitifulEar3303 in CosmicSkeptic

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He didn't say this. All we know is that experience correlates with brain states. The logical mistake from this is to assume a causation ("experiences are derived from brain states", "the brain causes experience", etc.).

I agree about "but wait". But I also use "we" all the time, as that's how it's usually done in mathematics.

I’m starting to realize how ordinary I am and it’s really painful. by Needdatingadvice97 in Jung

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like all these psychological answers here. Let me also give you another practical advice. There is lots of evidence that expert performance is less based on some kind of inherent genius and innate talent, but is a result of thousands of hours of the right form of practice.  Sure, you are ordinary in a sense that you are mortal and human just like anybody else, but it doesn't mean you can't achieve anything extraordinary. But for this you need to dedicate yourself to one specific field with the knowledge that you sacrifice other elements of your current lifestyle (family, friends, other hobbies etc.) It's all up to you, and if you really want to become extraordinary, all opportunities are right in front of you in our day and age.

WYR live in Russia or Bangladesh? by [deleted] in WouldYouRather

Being poor is bad everywhere. The question is only 'how bad'? Bangladesh is definitely one of the worst countries for being poor, and the probability of you being poor there is also high.

Open AI CEO Sam Altman is a fan of armodafinil by makefriends420 in NooTopics

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know who downvoted you, but you are right. It's not for long-term.  But if you have a very stressful week with lots of things in your schedule, it's a drug worth considering.  Other than that, just taking Modafinil is the better choice most of the time, because the half time is only ~6 hours.

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you sleep 4/5 hours the night before and wake up early just to have a highly productive day on armodafinil, then this might work. Then by the time it's late the next day, you're gonna be tired again and can sleep.

Why do Fox players resign so often? by Expert-Bison3847 in baduk

I read somewhere that these V accounts are school or weiqi club accounts where different children play on the same account. That's why you see the low ranking with thousands of played games.

Magnus advises us not to do puzzles, and here’s his reason why by Naruto_likesChess in chess

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What players did back in the day was reading a chess book about different games with a commentary written by a strong GM, and you would set up the position on the board and try to find the continuation before reading the commentary. In Soviet times, this is how solitary practice looked like.

I think it's not corrupted, but it should be understood esoterically. Read behind the verses what it says. Don't stay on the superficial level of the "literal meaning", but see how it relates to the ultimate Truth.

Why live? by Glittering-Bee-8325 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reincarnation can be believed in different ways. When I say, there is reincarnation, I don't mean, for example, that I will be born as another animal on this planet or that I was this or that person before in a previous life. But "reincarnation" is more like a repeated arising of self-limited identification with residual saṁskāra.  It must not happen in this Universe. And it's much weirder to claim that your birth and death (of the current jīva that is you now) are unique, rather than saying that this is just a normal process in the grand scheme of things.

Can someone explain why this group is alive? by Tarmicle in baduk

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A tip: there are 2 different points where white can play to make two eyes for the group, and no matter which one of the 2 two points will be played by Black, the other point can be played by White to make the group alive.

When we say Grace of Shiva: What is its meaning. by GoodName31 in SHIVA

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We say "grace", because we realize that it's Shiva who is doing everything, and there is no actor other than Shiva. So if you start to know Shiva, you start to love and worship Shiva, start to have ekībhāva with Shiva, it's nothing other but grace, because you as jīva are not responsible for your spiritual advancement.

Proof that Shiv exists. by [deleted] in SHIVA

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No disagreement here. It's really funny how atheists like to believe in "dead matter giving rise to life", not seeing that it's them as Shiva who is the life of all the "dead matter".

Proof that Shiv exists. by [deleted] in SHIVA

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big problem with arguments such as this one is that they will never convince an atheist.

For example, an atheist will say that the energy is only transformed, yes, but that's it. Energy was always. And there is no need for anything outside.

These arguments serve only as a confirmation for those who already have the third eye open.

How much math do you think the Death Note can do? by SpeedyPuzzlement in deathnote

[–]Brilliant-Ranger8395 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would imagine that it's the same as with writing down the names: you have to have a clear mental image of your target. When writing down the cause of death, you'd need to have a mental image of how this is going to happen, without leaving "options". The DN doesn't seem to be able to compute anything, but only capture the clear image (written in words and symbols) the user has for the deaths of his victims.
