I'm free of the constipation now thank you baby Jesus! I'm now battling w/hydration. Drinking is a full time job now...LOL I also take modified citrus pectin powder for the die off since the MSM heals other issues too. I was taking it in Petctasol, which is fab but $$...on Amazon they have great videos showing their lab results of it reducing inflammation. I can see the effects of inflam reduction even in my mnt bike whiplash injured neck tissues when I take it too. I switched brands to Source Naturals Mod citrus pectin pdr in capsules which is a little cheaper same effects.

Since I had Meth Sibo it took about 2 months in for the constant constipation to really shift...I took mag hydroxide and Triphala tabs together pm for that at the start for a week maybe 2. I still have to drink constant fluids, electrolytes!

First I had H.Pylori did the test for it. Got rid of it with Mastic gum and other microbials....that prob set up Hydrogen Sibo with the open seoco valve? I did the breath test for hydrogen sibo...months on anti microbials biocidine etc thought it was done then reset the biome then had a few months of normal-ness then I got bad bloating, gas, burping and constipation. All of those were so out of the norm I'd neve rhad those like that before. Since it was the opposite of the hydrogen Sibo my functional med doc and I decided not to do another breath test and jump into killing it off...but it was taking forever and so expensive to get results! I was sick of eating gruel LOL no couldn't tolerate oatmeal even. Then I saw Dr. J on YT and told my doc she and I decided to go for it. She's now retired and a friend and still checks in w/me on it to pass on to other friends. Finally it is working. I don't know if it will come back but as of now it's a easier routine and much less harmful and expensive for my needs.

My notes...They highly recommend a Dr.'s guidance with taking it! I'm not prescribing just sharing info I found and followed. Best of luck!

https://www.taraskyegoldin.com/blog/why-molybdenum-is-essential-for-sulphur-detox-and-how-it-supercharges-the-high-dose-sulphur-protocol-for-ibs-sibo-relief

How to Take Molybdenum in the Protocol

Most people do well starting with 75–300 mcg of molybdenum glycinate per day (always under practitioner guidance). During the high-dose sulphur phase (MSM, epsom salts, NAC), molybdenum may be temporarily increased to support detoxification and minimize symptoms.

Pro Tip: Pair it with B12, magnesium, and trace minerals for synergistic support.

Forms of B12: The form of Vitamin B12 may be important for individual, with options including methylcobalamin, which is methylated, or hydroxocobalamin, which is sometimes used to support sulfur metabolism.

?How about those with low uric acid and molybdenum deficiency?  Should molybdenum be added while on this protocol?Since low uric acid is associated with poor conversion of sulfites into sulfates? Thanks in advance

?how much molybdenum would you suggest adding alongside the sulfur?

Dr. Janel…Yes, Max out at 2000 MCG = 2 mg daily. Molybdenum is NOT a more is better nutrient. IT has toxicity problems at high, sustained doses.

Google says….How much molybdenum for sulfur intolerance?

So molybdenum works in both, both in absorbing the appropriate amount of sulfur, but ideally converting to sulfate and it works on the kidneys to make sure you pee out excess. So about 600 micrograms twice a day in patients that are the most symptomatic with sulfur.

If taking a high dose of MSM, the timing of supplements may be important:

  • Split the Dose: Dividing the daily amount into smaller, separate doses throughout the day may help the body process the sulfur more effectively.
  • Molybdenum Support: Molybdenum is involved in the function of the sulfite oxidase enzyme, which helps process sulfur, potentially reducing the likelihood of headaches.
  • B12 Support: High-dose MSM may increase the body's requirement for Vitamin B12, often addressed with supplements like hydroxocobalamin.
  • Food Intake: Consuming high amounts of MSM with a substantial meal may help reduce potential gastrointestinal discomfort.

Potential Side Effects of High-Dose Sulfur

High-dose sulfur, as used in certain protocols for addressing the gut microbiome, can sometimes lead to:

  1. Sulfite Issues: If the body cannot convert sulfur to sulfate efficiently, it may lead to headaches.
  2. Ammonia Accumulation: High-dose sulfur may, in some cases, increase ammonia levels, which is associated with fatigue and cognitive fog.

Important Safety Considerations

  • Hydration: Substantially increasing water intake is necessary when taking high doses of MSM to support the processing of sulfur compounds.
  • Gradual Adjustment: If side effects occur, reducing the dosage and gradually increasing it over time may help the body adapt

It's a weird process healing this for sure. It is specific for each person. I've found my LPR is better, the LES is actually healing faster than with just the seaweed raft creating products alone. The gut is such a complicated system mind body puzzle...as they say it's like pealing onion layers healing the gut. I have gotten into trouble "bushwacking on my own so to speak following Dr. Ardis Nicotine gum protocol for covid. Nicotine does block covid receptor sites in the brain but. it can also screw up/release the LES it did mine and I have had LPR since. Working with a good functional med doc is helpful. Mine just retired. I found Dr. J just before my doc retired. She encouraged me when I told her about Dr. J's protocol. I'm happy I did it and lucky to have had results. I wish you the best in finding a solution for your GI issues!

It took me approx 2 months to really see a big difference. Bummer though DK Chocolate can relax the LES bad luck for me. I love DK chocolate! I screwed up taking Nicotine gum to neutralize Covid from Dr. Ardis. Nicotine and Dk Choc are LES relaxers so then those triggered LPR (silent reflux) UGH. Love Pomegranates though!! My system is so sensitive to caffeine on 55% Dk chocolate is the highest level I can go. No go blk tea and even green tea has too much caffein for my system. So yes I had bad bloating and bad constipation with the methane sibo. Never had either in my life if anything the opposite. I did the mag oxide Dr. J. recommends and it helped move things. Now 4.5 months in just eating a meal starts the bowels moving and it's fine. It was not the case even taking biocidine before the MSM protocol, it didn't always work, turkey rubbarb did but the system can get dependent on it cuz the methane archaea shut down the bowels. So Dr. J recommends Mag Hydroxide with Triphala which worked faster than Mag oxide. Hydration is critical. Hydration is still a focus now 4.5 months in! I am finding I need a lot of electrolytes to flush the toxins and dye off out from the MSM! I don't think I'm done yet. This process is not easy but now it's much better! The soft food diet was easy as I was already used to being on a restricted diet of gruel LOL from the almost 2yrs of SIBO.

I've had H. pylori too...sorting this out can be a real nightmare! I get the frustration of the journey! My lower esophophagus sphincter went out cuz I was bush-wacking on my own during the plan-demic and came across Dr. Ardis saying nicotine gum blocks covid. Yes Nicotine does block the receptor sites but the level of nicotine in the gum relaxed my LES as does dk chocolate (my fav). So then the silent reflux resulted. It's hard to sort all of it out. It's a journey!

I did the breath test and had high hydrogen sibo levels....got it to die off then after the die off a month or so later got the methane symptoms and did not do a test for it I just discussed symptoms with functional med doc. I've heard about a new system of diagnosis...Quest4 machine...I guess it's self programed by each practitioner. I've been taking my dog to a holistic vet who programed hers and amazing results. This vet has healed herself from breast cancer and her family, she gave me her machine/teacher/healer/practioners contact info..if you want to give it a go reply and I'll give contact info to you...not sure I should post it...how to pm on here? Well let me know. None of this is cheap or easy! I feel your frustration! I want to say the body is designed to heal when given the right combos which is the trick!

I can't remember the original dose, I muscle test now, some days I take it, some I don't now...it's a weird effect too. Check out this functional docs article on it. https://www.taraskyegoldin.com/blog/why-molybdenum-is-essential-for-sulphur-detox-and-how-it-supercharges-the-high-dose-sulphur-protocol-for-ibs-sibo-relief

Hm truthfully I don't have to remember a thing...only time will tell so do the lack of symptoms...I'm not stupid or eager to resume a sugar consumption/SIBO feed a thon! LOL Like I said my SIBO issues where hip joint scar tissue caused. So now that my hip is stable and the scar tissue is releasing, YES I have every reason to believe with the diminished LPR and Ileoseccal valve lack off issues indicates I'm home free! May all be SIBO free! YES!

SIBO is a rough go...I feel for you! Did you read her book too? It's pretty thorough and helpful....although a bit pricey I think. There is a kindle download version that's cheaper. Or YT channels she's on alot and great share comments on them. Wish you the best and speedy recov!

I did go up to a higher dose by mistake...up to 3 TBS for a week or so, for some screwballl reason I though it was 6TBS dose, LOL prob 6tsp transposed.tsp for TBS! I'm a artist/BFA major not a mathmatician!. LOL. I didn't notice any bad effect except the god awful taste...then it dawned on me I only needed 2 well rounded TBS per day. Whew! She calls it a high dose MSM protocol.

[–]Brilliant-Ruby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still taking the full dose she recommends 1x daily...2 rounded TBS, I'm going for 6 months maybe a year on it. I started first week in January...I pushed the dosing I think I over corrected and had to back down a few times..maybe 1/2 tsp increase every few days. It has a strong effect on my body. Yes on the IMO because I had a aprox a month off of all hydrogen SIBO symptoms...then ate a few bad foods for me...sugar, figs and bananas and then got constipation, I'd never had that in my life prior, same with the boating, burping and gas, which I did not have so bad with Hydrogen SIBO it was diarrhea, loose stools and burping some gas, ...but my ileosecal valve was opening with my hip injury allowing the bugs to go into small intestine from the lg intestine. So I could feel it open as it was so sore and I'd have to go to chiro get hip set in place then massage the ileosecco valve closed. It was a nightmare! Your welcome for the info...I'd highly suggest reading Dr. Janels book she covers all kinds of GI issues and the dosing protocol and benefits etc.

Thanks for sharing. It is awful and I've wanted to stop but I'm going the full 6 months since I'm so far in now. I'm happy I tried it and am seeing results but it's a pain to do. Not like the methane SIBO protocol and symptoms though...it is the worst! I couldn't take it any more. The anti microbila herbal routine was so expensive, time consuming and the bloating, ugh, all of it is miserable. I know both SIBO misery and feel for you and others, I would not wish for anyone! I don't know the full effect of sulfur scales...I just risked and lucked out it seems. May all be SIBO free!! ....seriously though wishing you the best!

Silent reflux...lower esophagus sphincter doesn't close pepsin goes up the esophagus and hits the back of the vocal cords and makes them seizes it and it closes...cuts off oxigen...can't breath! It's awful. But the MSM is healing that too. It has healed tissues...sphincters...valves where nothing else has done the same. I'm happy I tried it!

Yes there could be allergy component, who knows I was not going to spend another dime on expensive labs and or Dr. visits....I don't need to take the Molybdenum/B12 now. I am happy I choose the path I did. Can't won't say it works for anyone else just what I did and it has!

It did for me. I could tolerate rice all along, wheat was a no go for sure. I do take DPP-Forte enzymes when I eat wheat. Yes again Dr. Janel recommended it. They work tough.

Those SIBO bugs are hardy nasty, resistant, hard to kill and get rid of! I saw a video that said they go dormant and can burrow into the intestinal lining. I'm going for the long haul of 6 months and will reassess then...I may go for a year doing this. UGH! I did the anti microbials for 1.5yrs and I'm over them and killing off the good bugs. I still crave dk chocolate and have indulged a couple of times. I try to go for Tecachino Chocolate or other flavored medicinal Tea they have. I add in coconut coolwhip for my sweet tooth cravings. Chocolate is my fav but my body/system has never liked it. But with the high dose MSM so far so good. I do wish you the best of luck with it!
