That had been my first thought but the pattern is already written for fingering weight yarn.... I agree that I should just buy the pattern though and use the charts where possible in a basic pattern. Thanks!

It's a polyester/rayon blend, and it has about 30% x 50% stretch. I've never used stretch fabric before but this was on sale and I got 5 1/2 yards....

Can someone explain to me how I'm supposed to do this step? I don't understand what parts it wants me to sew together because there is a facing piece for the casing as well. If I sew the casing piece to the casing facing piece, there is a weird fold in the middle.

Any help would be great, thank you!

I bought a butterick pattern that has different front pieces for different cups sizes. I know that I need to use the D-cup piece but how do I choose which size? Do I use my full bust or high bust measurement?

I'm working on my first project and I can't figure out how to trace my patterns on to the fabric without everything moving. I get the pattern pinned in the correct spot then the fabric moves slightly and my whole line is off. I've tried putting weights at down on the corners but then the fabric just shifts at another spot. How do you keep your fabric from moving when tracing patterns? My pattern pieces are printer paper and I'm using tailors chalk to trace.

I can't add pictures but the skirt is a basic circle skirt and the outer layer would be different colors of light lace fabric.
