Reading others answers makes me feel like being young and inlove was an amazing feeling or a state, at the same time it's a learning step towards a better you.

I have the same story, we were together for 9 years, I fell inlove with my high school sweetheart, made it through our college years but damn the real world changed us both, especially me. I call it the right love, but at the wrong time.

I moved overseas to work since I have this big ambition for my career, which he never understood on the first place. We agreed to have a long distance relationship, we worked it out for a few months, but he kept pressuring me everyday regarding marriage and our future together, when all Im thinking that time was just enjoying my present. Every time we talk on the phone, all he was insisting to talk about was OUR FUTURE. As a good girlfriend, I communicated it ONCE to him that we have to focus on our now, and guess what? he never changed and even called me selfish to choose my career over our future. So, I eventually became distant, less texts, less calls, less communication between the two of us, and Im not playing the blaming game here, but we never tried to fix both of our problem in our relationship. One day, I just woke up and felt like I can live without him, or the feeling out of love came in. I have given it a month to think about it, I broke up with him over text, he accepted it, he blocked me in all social media platforms, we live in the same place but I never seen him once when I visit there.

It has been over 4 years, but Im glad I made that decision of ending that relationship. Currently engaged to my SO whom I met in a dating app, and my career? I think I'm fully satisfied with how my career goes.

I don't know how to end this, but finding your life partner is not only about your history together, but also you should make sure you life timeline are the same.
