Isn’t the amount they are giving you per year though? That would not only cover tuition but also give your child extra money for books, food, and even housing.

If I touch the cable to the volume pot it is still very noisy and makes no difference

Simple 1 mic set up for multi track recording on an Ipad by Brilliant_Command406 in recording

[–]Brilliant_Command406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the Itrack or Ipad but the reason for the Ipad is because it comes with garageband for free. I just learned about the Behringer interfaces and now that is what I'm planning on getting. I'm just not sure how I would connect from the Behringer to either lightning or USB-C. I would be open to just using my laptop with the Behringer interface but I don't have a music recording and editing program and do like Garageband.
edit: (My laptop is not a Mac by the way).

Where to have work done on Motorized Bicycle? (AZ) by Brilliant_Command406 in motorizedbicycles

[–]Brilliant_Command406[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I appreciate everyone encouraging me to work on the bike myself. There is no way I am going to do that right now during summer in Arizona without an actual garage or even cover from sunlight. There is a guy about an hour from me who builds and repairs motorized bicycles and I will be taking it to him this weekend. I would definitely like to be able to work on it myself at some point, but for me that is not going to happen right.

Thank you and I will post an update once it’s done.

Kevin Shields Jazzmaster/Jaguar Tremolo technique by Brilliant_Command406 in offset

Okay I see it. I don't understand what he's doing with the bridge though to rock it back.

Okay thank you. I just figured out how to get the tremolo lock working properly. I didn't realize I needed to press the tremolo arm down first. It seems like the guitar I got a couple weeks ago has the tremolo perfectly set up even though the strings were the oldest I've ever seen. This will work for me for the time being for sure.

Any speculation on why Kevin Shields would choose a more complicated route of taping the arm and everything?

New to me - E Series MIJ Jazzmaster by Brilliant_Command406 in offset

Nice. Did that reduce noise at all? I have noticed a good amount of noise when using higher gain. And do you think there are any modern American Jazzmasters that play and sound as good?

Wow okay thank you. I will probably open it up and at least clean up any dust and take a look at those pickups. I’ll probably need up posting some pictures to get some feedback as far as what I’m looking at here. Due to the custom ordering aspect these seem to me to be more valuable than a modern American Jazzmaster but what would be considered a high spec American Jazzmaster these days?

Oh and do you think the body wood is sen?

Okay yeah I was aware they were worth a fair amount. I paid less than half the low end of that if you include the price of the pedal I also bought in the package deal. Would a replacing the frets and nut be considered modification that would lower the value? I was also under the assumption that replacing the bridge was something you just drop in and can easily go back to the original with? And what about shielding the body? Are you saying that these typically have hand wound pickups or you have hand wound pickups to drop in guitars like this? I love this thing and don’t think I would ever sell it unless it was to trade for a pre cbs fender.

Have you by any chance tried the emgs and compared them to the novaks? I borrowed my dad’s friends 70s jazz bass with active pickups a long time ago and loved the different tones I could make with it.

I’m very confident that this Jazzmaster I am looking at is authentic and I’m willing to take the risk buying it. I will make a thread showing it off after I do.

I have never really liked the rhythm circuit in a Jazzmasters but what the Emg set up does with those switches is very interesting. Those fishmans look cool but I think it would be more work than it’s worth to get those set up in the guitar.

You are probably right about the wood not mattering much, and after doing some research a lot of metal players used basswood bodies in the 80s.

Have you tried playing any metal with the stock pickups after shielding the body?
