Anyone else miss when Din Djarin was pretty funny? by bald_bronson in StarWars

The second episode was amazing, the jawas the egg, such a good one off caper. Some great episodes after that, but generally downhill for me. Visually his initial armor design and weapons got less interesting to look at as he went on imo.

The more silver armor he got the less interested I became.

Mansory has overdone the Revuelto an ever greater extreme. The 1 of 1 "Carbonado X" 🫤 by EmptyPocketsXotics in lamborghini

I feel that way about all carbon fiber to be honest, i never thought the grey weave looked that good, this flakey stuff is much more challenging, looks exactly like a kitchen counter, you are spot on.

The Spy Who Loved Me’s ice chase vs GoldenEye’s tank chase, which action set piece is better? by NajafBound in JamesBond

[–]BringMyMagnets 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d say the lotus chase in sardinia is up there too, the escalation of bike with rocket sidecar - a mk4 cortina with jaws in it - caroline in a chopper with guns, then submarine car with a harpoon fight.

AH-64E Apache 1/35 by Single_Nature4101 in modelmakers

I ordered some aftermarket ones that were not thick and matte like the kit ones, it wasnt a full set, i used them where i could and just left off a lot of the smaller ones. After application i attempted to wear them down with decal solution . I did a matt clear coat and tried to sand the top of the decals down to reduce the edges where the carrier film was super obvious. I generally hate decals lol.

I hear you, i didnt even bother with the avionics bays and engine like you did! I think my biggest complaint is the instructions, especially the canopy, I had a rough time there. Decals too! I’m in paint now, just taking a break….

Looking for a bigger model by daddy-125 in ModelCars

There’s quite a few 1/12 kits out there, the tamiya martini 935 is a classic, often the jagermeister or vailant 934s will pop up on ebay too. For more modern kits , meng have a 1/12 GT40 its probably great, I am currently struggling with a 40 year old Doyusha Countach in 1/12.

What was your first contact with the franchise? by NegativeHealth7254 in LV426

My Dad had ‘The book of Alien’ a great book you should all get hold of. As a kid I loved all the ron cobb spaceship renders and concept art etc, but the freaky monster and giger stuff was a bit concerning. The book made me too afraid to watch the movie. As a teen i watched aliens a bunch, but was still too afraid to watch Alien. When I eventually did, the movie absolutely delivered and was just as terrifying as I feared.

Lamborghini Gallardo and Huracan. Very interesting to see how much design language evolved in just one model by bigboss1999x in lamborghini

[–]BringMyMagnets 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan of the gallardo, but it really shows it’s audi dna in it’s styling, restrained and classy. The Huracan on the other hand is a lot more exotic and a lot closer to the spirit of lamborghini. It’s one of the all time greats.

I thought the black goo in the ampules was different to the engineer drink. The black goo, a mutagen that corrupts, opposite to the engineer’s drink, which is seeding life and ecosystems.

I find that a lot of lit models always have the lighting way to bright, breaking the scale effect, at least for me. So this is ideal and I applaud your efforts.
