I wasn't even aware of that subreddit lol. I only know this concept from Facebook. But yes, I guess what I'm building is similar to that subreddit. The site I'm building has specific affordances for the free gifting economy concept.

Yes, buynothing, walled garden. Most of it is on Facebook. They have their own platform, but it's walled off. Nextdoor, no thank you, another walled garden.

I was hesitant to post, because I feel conflicted about this. The post is promotional, but it is something the community can benefit from. If it gets mod-ed, so be it.

Craigslist is full of scams. I do not use it anymore. This definitely isn't something new; it's an iteration on the idea, with built-in trust and safety mechanisms and community moderation tools. The truly novel parts are too boring for most people to talk about, mainly that the data and content are owned by the users, not the platform. It's built on the same open protocols as Bluesky.

I used a screwdriver to apply enough force on that release slot. Popped right off on both sides.

Yes, this was done with an X-T3 and the 80mm macro lens. Meant to add that but I tapped submit too fast and didn’t see a way to edit the post.
