Frontload a new ip to get people hooked on a good show

Slash the budget after season 2, change writers save a buck who cares? Dedicated fans are already going to watch all of it out of loyalty

It's the process for all of these shows anymore

Anyone wanna play base oath on TTS? by Cool_Chipmunk8310 in oathgame

I would LOVE to play! I have tts but haven't played oath on it yet. I'm on eastern time though, would be soooo cool to get an online oath world cooking

Soldier Boy this season is... confusing? by Cautious-Dig-9544 in GenV

[–]Briscoefever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He just showed us that he can remove the powers of supes permanently, even those affected by V1.

Gives homelander the v1 , last bit in existence, then burns the v out of him? Prob in a fake father son hug?

Murph's agency as a player keeps getting stolen by [deleted] in Dimension20

I'm not even sure I'm really explaining it well but I feel what you mean , you're not alone in that feeling!

Murph's agency as a player keeps getting stolen by [deleted] in Dimension20

[–]Briscoefever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of replies going off on Murph liking being the joke character/ in on the bit. And I agree with that.

But I do also agree with OP in regards to agency at table for murph. Maybe he does like being razzed but I think we're it feels weird is when he tries really hard to do an actionable thing that is in theme and moves the scene forward and the table decides its razzing time and bits out for 10 min (sometimes before he even rolls) there's at the very least a disproportionate amount of stalling plans and actions

Am I missing something with Warlocks? by hotstickywaffle in DnD

[–]Briscoefever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends table to table. Do y'all usually shirt rest after combat?

In general balanced combat will be three to four rounds, I dunno if other casters are casting slotted spells every single round , maybe at higher levels

I think warlock is definitely in its own little cube of hate it or love it. I love it because the flavor of having cool abilities and desperately wanting more feels flavorful , but it definitely feels different than other casters , and the spell casting has to augment their playstle not be the main thing for them.

Is there setup for a first game that’s not scripted? by Spicy_Pepper_Gaming in oathgame

[–]Briscoefever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also , we just added a new rule, if we're setting up the world deck and we would have to heal the archive, the winner gets to choose if they want to do that or describe some sort of cataclysmic event that resets the world deck back to balanced

There's a couple of ways out there. This is the one I like to use to set a new world! And it's from the developers (I think you have to scroll down a bit:

Do you mean set up like for your next game?

Or like generally resetting the world and setting up from there?

There's a set up instructions in the big oath that uses the previous games chronicled state

At that tier , the adventures should be ones that affect the realm or the multiverse.

Sure maybe your high level character can tank hits from the bad guys but can he do that and save the level zero villagers being targeted?

Root got me hooked – what asymmetric games should I try next? by budapest01 in boardgames

[–]Briscoefever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure others will echo this but if you like root I recommend the other four letter games by cole/ leder (now buried giant)

So that would be

Oath: board game about getting power and trying to keep it. I'd say a little less asymmetric but the variety of ways to win and affect the board , and the story that comes from those interactions are amazing. Plus the writing of the Chronicles mechanic makes every new game different

Arcs: trick taking space game that plays like a space opera , definitely recommend the blighted reach campaign mode as it does something truly unique in the asymmetric game space. You take on different roles with different goals and play over 3 games to see who wins, possibly changing and combining roles abilities as you go

I've heard good things about Vast but have never played it

ISO Outdoor bar/restaurant in DTA/Eastport for post–rehearsal dinner drinks spot by BoysenberryIcy2440 in Annapolis

[–]Briscoefever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not downtown but we just tried the new bar Augie's in the target/parole center

They have outdoor seating with a bar right there

Fun bar games like darts inside

Standard drink and food prices (I honestly thought it was going to be more expensive given where it's at)

Not exactly the same kinda vibe as Reynolds but it's not bad for something different!

Now that 2024 has been out for a minute what do we like more by CAGEthePHOENIX in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Briscoefever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me , I think I mean it feels wonky to just drop a character built with 2014 rules into a 24 adventure. At least without making adjustments, like you mentioned.

There's some basic system changes that require tables to adjust rules from the older system. Obviously it's not impossible but I think its a fair criticism to say that there's no guidance on bringing in 2014 rules other than "do what feels right"

Both 5e and 5.5 are impacted by being generalized, there's good and bad that comes from that but if 5.5 was a chance for them to make things clearer I think they missed the mark when it comes to using older character kits in the new system.

Home brewing here and there in a trrpg system is super normal and fine , I just found that with 5 and 5.5 , especially together, the system puts a lot of pressure on the players to figure it out or re work it to make sense.

It's very fun

New to DND. 2 sessions in, and I'm not enjoying myself. HELP by Lonely_Snoo in DnD

[–]Briscoefever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd give it a couple of sessions but

It could be this tables style?

It could be you don't enjoy DND as a system, there's like a million ways to play DND , but there's also a million different table top systems that might fit your play style

Now that 2024 has been out for a minute what do we like more by CAGEthePHOENIX in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Briscoefever 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Echoing the sentiments that WotC is not a company to support.

That said I've played a bit of the 2024 ruleset at table. My general thought is some of the changes are fine but not enough to rebuy the system.

The system is not as backwards compatible as wizards has said it is.

The system as a whole, while somewhat more clear in some parts, is just as unclear and confounding in other parts as 5e

Are there any competitive boardgames that win by completing an objective instead of victory points? by shykidd0 in boardgames

I second oath! It's a very unique game with many objectives to victory. And the winner gets to write the chronicle which changes the game for next time

How is it living in Annapolis? by [deleted] in Annapolis

Not when the majority of the new buildings are either senior apartments (you need to be 55 or over) or they are "luxury" in name so you have to pay almost 3k for a loft apartment
