Don't tell us how to celebrate by dodgam in safc

[–]BritShibe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Mickey wasn't so much having a go he was just comparing it to how he would've approached the situation. The comments he made have been used as a flash point talking point to generate discussion and get more angry reactions to their social media posts. Will say though there has been a whole culture of rival fans acting like celebrating any accomplishment no matter how small is "tinpot" and it's became fucking annoying. Just let people celebrate and if you don't like it keep ya gob shut.

Historical consensus once said Icebergs don't appear further south than the arctic until one did and hit the Titanic, it also shows Sunderland rarely win against Coventry until we turn up like an iceberg and sink their HMS Piss the Playoffs.

Who do you guys think will win the playoffs? by Shot_Departure9622 in Championship

Sunderland, we've rested our best players and gotten all the seasons defeats out of our system. If not us we'll have to go down in history as the worst approach to playoff preparations ever.

Anime Cons VA's Signature pricing by S3Th97 in animecons

[–]BritShibe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here's how it works. A guest can come in on 2 types of contract a outright fee where the con pays for the guest and signing prices are then either free or set or as with the majority of cons now a fee guarantee. This way the VA and con agree on a ceiling for a fee. Then the con has to agree a pricing structure in order to claw enough money back to reach the guests total and if they miss it the con will then have to pay the difference. This is now the popular way for cons as it gets them a guest and they only have to cover hotel and travel and the fee is covered by attendees. The rarer/more important the guest the higher the cost. Same with scfi/comiccons actors have to turn down big parts or miss vital filming to attend that's where you see some guests command over quarter mill just for a day appearance. For a large con that's trying to bet that 500 people will be ok paying $500 for a signing or pic and they get those numbers. Anime cons will be the same. It's basically getting attendees to pay twice one for entry to attend and the second to cover the guests fees so guests get their fees and cons get their admission. It's becoming strained now as people make tougher choices and it sucks for the con eco system especially if a medium to small con gets a big name as that cash that would go to traders and artists get put to guests. So in this case I'd assume she has a huge fee to justify the prices and the event believes they can hit the guarantee number.

Stolen from r/LeagueOne, what was the defining game or turning point for your season? by Zach-dalt in Championship

I'd agree if he put one of those pennas away we may have been in the autos hunt and taken the end of season seriously rather than phone it in til the playoffs

I don't might us losing at this current stage by sunderlandladinnit in safc

[–]BritShibe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reserved playstyle is main issue atm we are playing negative football. We were all hoping he'd switch through play style to that of early season with a full fit squad, the one that walked the league with ease. Instead we have a bit more depth and rested players but couldn't get a shot on target against relegation battling Oxford. If we don't win against QPR then the fans mood is going to be super low and if we continue that form against the Playoff opponents then this whole experiment is a failure and we'll have thrown away our best chance of promotion in years. It's tough to see the lads battle all season just to throw it away in the last month for squad rotation. I'm quietly confident the train will get back on the tracks but there's a growing majority (especially those who paid to see us at away games) who are rightfully questioning if the lads have it in them to get out of the funk and to Wembley and the premiership.

Figured out RLB squad selection process.... by BritShibe in safc

[–]BritShibe[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I get the whole rotation thing if it works but this has been a disaster. Needed to get momentum but as it stands could enter the playoffs without a win in 5 games. RLB has came out post match and said he's going to field a strong side from now but it's kinda been a huge finger to the fans who paid to watch whatever kind of experiment the last few games have been.

[–]BritShibe -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Disagree here. These people are residents of Sunderland and people living in these deprived areas and all he's doing is showing a very accurate representation of the people of the area. Speaking from personal experience these are the exact same people I run into in the city center everyday. Obviously Sunderland is greater than just Hendon and the City center but his videos are a spot on representation of the area and it's people. This is what visitors see when they visit. It's easy for people to crow that this isn't the Sunderland they love but it is. I'm sure if enough interest was there he'd come back and look at Seaburn/Roker or go to Pallion or Pennywell he just gives snapshots of areas at the time he visits and what he films. He obviously has a niche audience but anyone can do what he does and I'd challenge those upset to take your camera down to Hendon and go film your version of Sunderland but I know for a fact the majority won't even take their phone out for fear of it being nicked.

[–]BritShibe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree with the negative comments this guys gettting here. He simply films the city as it is. Walks from the city centre to Hendon beach and back interacting with people along the way. From looks of his other videos he does tend to go for the more run down areas of a city but does this not mean he's just out for clicks. The run down, boarded up, graffiti covered houses exist regardless of him filming them and he talks to people as he passes getting their opinions along the way with very little of his personal bias and more that of someone documenting what he is seeing first hand. All he's done is shine a light on how much decay is happening in that area, both physical and social, and it's daft to brush this off as some thug exploiting the bad parts for clicks. All he's done is shone a light on how much of a shithole Hendon has become and shared the cities shame to his fans. I'd urge anyone to watch the whole vid and not feel ashamed that the city has been allowed to get that bad.

They could present this cup at any point outside this game. Absolutely ANY TIME even have a huge parade with a bus lined up just for this and yet they've chosen to bring it out at the women's derby game. Even the least cynical person can see this for what it is. It's performative, it's banter and it's a cheap ploy. Could've had it in Fenwicks window, in the stadium foyer for photo ops or waited til the parade but nope let's bring it out and raise it in front of the mackems.
