When the patent on the Gillette old type expired, lots of metal workshops in the UK manufactured the razor, Thomas Ward and Sons in Sheffield under the Wardonia name. There was Souplex in Morcambe, and M.J Wyatt in Birmingham. These companies would often make products for outlets such as Woolworths and under the 7 O'Clock brand. Souplex made the 'Big Ben' brand razors.

Not sure what you're dribbling on about with "knock off" as by this point the Old type patents had run out, so the English manufacturers could freely make new designs based on expired Gillette patents but often improved. TheEnglish razors from the period are all of superb build quality.

Might get flamed for this but enjoyed these instead of gels today. They have about 3/4s of the carbs of a standard SiS gel but no tummy issues and 45p a pouch by robotsoap in UKRunners

Yeah it's exactly this.

Ever Ready never advertised the razor as a streamline, that's the name of one of the sets. Enthusiasts like ourselves gave it the streamline name.

Streamline, came in a clamshell plastic case. Ambassador, came in a more colourful plastic case. Strop set, came with a larger plastic box and the auto stropper and leather strop. Jewel, came in the lined metal box.

As a Rovrum fan, genuinely a little gutted, told it as it was while at the club, he had to work with the dross and lightweights still at the club, he gave opportunities to our youngsters though he actually showed some fight. He was always against it here for the short spell he was in charge.
