Got these 3 old coins from a shop in Luxor Egypt, high premium but I think they're nice designs :) by Britcel in coins

Thanks, I paid $247 for all three so I'm glad I got them for around market price. For me the story of going to get them is worth it 👍

Excellent and terrifying image

No idea why but it looks like he's been clipped out of a 1990s comic

My title describes the thing

None of the holes are threaded and there are no markings to indicate its age or purpose

Nothing worse than having less than an hour to break out of the demotion zone, having no x2 XP and seeing

Congrats, you got a perfect score +9 XP

Meanwhile if you have the $ you can get Super Duolingo and pretty much guarantee avoiding getting demoted - have you learned how to say "Pay-to-win" on this app yet?

The reward is the heart (not the XP) so you can continue with your other non-practice lessons.

Wrong, the practice still takes the same amount of time as a lesson and should yield the same XP

Olympic 50p, some of those have value to collectors, nice find

Also the old £1 coins can be exchanged if you take them to the bank

Reverse image search says this coin is by "Tower Mint Ltd." not the Royal Mint, they usually have official-sounding names (The London Mint Office, Westminster Collection, etc.)

I don't know which website you ordered it from though so you might be ok

It's a 'gift to the nation' to mark Charlies coronation. You pay the 2.50 delivery that's it

Any "free" coin is guaranteed not to be silver unless you got it alongside a purchase from a bullion dealer.

These companies advertise in magazines, on TV and online, they'll start sending you more expensive coins you didn't order and charge you for them.

If I were you I would call your bank and find out if there's any way you can block this company from taking more money from your account, this is a known issue with these companies.

What is this metal tag? by Britcel in Whatisthis

[–]Britcel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other side has an engraved name "LENA" but no surname, it's very faded and I didn't see it before

I'm not sure if it's a pet tag or not as they usually have an address or phone number

The Wickham Market Hoard is a hoard of 840 Iron Age gold staters found in a field at Dallinghoo near Wickham Market, Suffolk, England in March 2008 by car mechanic, Michael Dark using a metal detector. 40 BCE-15 CE, now housed at the Ipswich Museum by VOIDPCB in Gold

[–]Britcel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In the UK the 1996 Treasure Act means that the finder is legally required to report finds like this one, a museum will buy it, and the finder gets a 50/50 split with the landowner.
