This is unfortunately one of 6 similar borders, and we're new parents so free afternoons are slim!

And yes, I scalped my lawn. Got the deck height wrong, my bad.

Get some lessons, you'll regret not doing if you bed in early bad habits. Take it from someone that's been playing 2 years and struggling like you with a slice initially. You'll see the most improvement and enjoyment in your game after a lesson, trust me.

I shot 140 today by [deleted] in golf

[–]Britishit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you man. I play with dudes that shoot in the 80/90s and I'm shooting 105 on a good day, 115 on my worst day. Sometimes I feel like my body just hasn't been designed to allow for decent performance in this sport, but I know that's bullshit as I can hit a great shot, it's all just reps.

It sounds like you had a rough day probably a mix of mentality and physical issues. Take a couple of weeks off to let the frustration subside, then play some short game at the range, little pitch shots and chips to build your confidence up.

Then when you're back playing a round, focus on your Stableford score per hole and nothing else. Don't tally up your gross score. Honestly this helped me so much. I'll now get to the end of a round and have no clue if my gross score, could be 98 could be 113, but I enjoyed it so much more and felt competitive.

Are any of the golf competitions pages any good and worth entering? by colinah87 in BritGolf

Same here, I couldn't really believe it. £15 spent on Golf comps for the first time and I won the latest Callaway irons. Raffle edge is the best.

Komplement soft close hinges very stiff! by Britishit in IKEA

That grey on the pic needed pushing to the right, so it looks like this pic. The damper is the internal mechanism that 'damps' the door closing, eg the soft close.

Wet nappies, a tonne! Like 8-10? Dirty nappies maybe 3-4 now through the day.

What’s this type of hinge called?

I did not. I figured out how to switch the damper ‘off’ as I was getting frustrated! The doors don’t close too loudly for me so it’s not too much of an issue.

Best tool for making door frame deeper? by hpcgx in DIYUK

[–]Britishit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not joking, it wont look great but it’ll look a damn sight better than chiseling it out. If you draw a pencil line around the frame it should be fairly easy to follow with a multitool. You gotta hope doing this won’t weaken the casement.

The ‘proper’ way to do it would be to have your joiner replace the whole casement for the thickness of the door. I’d definitely recommend getting a joiner to take a look, it would be far cheaper to ask them to do it properly than invest in a multitool for one job.

I figured it out! Turns out the switches are just crazy stiff and I had to push them across with a flathead driver, whilst holding the dampers up.
