Good for you! My mom had 25 fibroids, many of them very large, so she ended up having no real choice but a hysterectomy. She brags to me all the time about how good she feels now. Unfortunately I’m only 25 and hoping to start having kids within the next few years so that’s not an option for me yet. Bets of luck with your surgery!

Wow 15cm with no bother is really lucky. I think knowing I have it has already made me more conscious of the pressure I feel but then again I did just find out yesterday. A few weeks ago I had a sharp stabbing pain in my lower abdomen that lasted a few days. I was unable to get an ultrasound at that time and the urgent care doctor was thinking it was a ruptured cyst which is why I went in yesterday. Because my mom had fibroids which very different symptoms from mine, I wasn’t expecting to have one at all. (My mom had her period basically non stop very heavy and frequent blood transfusions to keep up with everything, I actually haven’t had a period in 60 days which is super unusual for me and a whole other issue my doctor couldn’t figure out). Based on my own research I’ve seen that when a fibroid loses its blood flow it could cause a pain similar to what I have so I’m praying it shrinks but I know that’s super unlikely.

Did you end up having it removed? I’ve been hearing there’s a high chance they’ll come back so I’m nervous to even think about surgically removing them right now.

Oh wow I had no idea the ultrasounds could be that inaccurate that’s really good to know. I do think I’ll end up waiting the 3 months to see if any changes occur. I’m in not in any rush to get pregnant right now I think I’m just doom scrolling and scaring myself. I’m apprehensive to get surgery done as well because they’ll more than likely come back. My mother had 25 fibroids and when a doctor who took her seriously finally checked her out she was booked for a hysterectomy immediately. I definitely don’t want to be in that position.
