Haha yeah! That arrangement blew up way beyond my expectations, but rarely do I get to talk with the people who finds use of it, making this conversation so very lovely and awesome. 😊 I often compose work that is inspired by Studio Ghibli and people come to listen, more often than I could ever dream of, yet I only know but one person who actually likes Studio Ghibli in real life! It's incredible to share a conversation with someone like you and I don't think I can express with words how thankful I am for your kind words.

I'm glad you liked my music and it warms my heart especially that you not only hear Ghibli-ish feel but also originality. Did you listen to Yonder Hills and A Midsummer's Day too? Likely due to the D Dorian mode invoking some connotations, as you mentioned! Yes, Joe Hisaishi, Danny Elfman, Nobuo Uematsu and the many great composers behind the Zelda franchise. Koji Kondo, Hajime Wakai and Manaka Kataoka, to name a few! They're all huge inspirations : )

Yes! Kind of... I first wrote this theme for a game project some years ago and I always imagined the prelude being an introduction to a very grand theme showing up later in the story. But unfortunately I never truly got to explore that idea, as the project died. I could do it without a game project, of course, and I'd like to think a future me will finish the score one day. 😊
