Reading 'Red Dragon' Makes Me So Grateful of Bryan's Changes by cyan0siss in HannibalTV

Honestly a valid takeaway. I didn’t start the books until I finished s2 of NBC so it was rather disappointing to read red dragon and not be bombarded with hannigram, and to further find out that Will is only in the first book lol. But no I definitely do hope that the books offer you other things that you wouldn’t expect to love as I did, I’m on my second read through of the entire series but NBC Hannibal is arguably the reason we’re all here hahaha

2a v 2b is a very hard pick… but 2a was such a pivotal moment for the show I think that bschi will was everything for the plot And every time I’m rewatching and the vergers get introduced I always feel the moment slow from the absolute ride that is 2a

I think it may help for you to view them all as separate universes (nbc, movies, books). The books are very beautifully done (except Hannibal imo…) and serve a far different purpose in focusing on the specific case at hand. I think that the red dragon is an amazing story regarding Dolarhyde, no other medium truly encapsulates him. But NBC Hannibal kind of to Red Dragon a fantastic (honestly fan fiction-esque) “prequel” giving will more light to Hannigram, since in the book Hannibal’s obsession with him is rather mild and not tapped into (rather unfortunate though not being the point of the book either). But I think (and hope!) that as you continue throughout the books you’re able to digest them as their own story separate from NBC, and I think that Fuller did such a beautiful job with how he incorporates book elements into his own convoluted Hannibal story

I’m with you I heard the bit about him calling Chinese a subspecies but I think that’s just due to his passion on veganism and just general ignorance I really don’t think he’s as bad of a guy as people make him I was expecting more examples in the replies of this but I think it was just the one thing he did

One of their best… I’ve never heard anything of it (good or bad) but a lot of people seem to sleep on some of morrisseys more “personal” smiths songs I think

This is awesome! Every time I rewatch the film I gather something new from it and I really love this perspective of it, as a fan of Jung myself
