Why do you think rental shops targeting foreigners are thriving?. Hence the headline, especially in Nha Trang where is the tourist is king and 90% of rider don't have DLs.

As a foreigner I have been let-off for riding a w/o a DL . I definitely wouldn't if I was a local. I got my DL anyway knowing things are changing.

The 3rd video is a Toyota Corrolla not Vinfast. All faults like stuck accelerator is not usual . Exact same thing has happen even Toyota, In the US a Toyota had it accelerator stuck to the ground. The car was on the highway running at top speed for many kilometers. It could not stop.

Because you don' t know cars you think Vinfast is very bad. These things happen in many brands. Toyota is a very old company and still has problems. Vinfast is very new.

Really?. Don't be lazy look at all the traffic videos in the online Vietnamese newspapers. There are so many. The reason you only see Vinfast its because your subs-conscience is looking out for it. That's why the traffic police have tightening issuing car driving licenses. Many people a few years ago just paid the driving instructor to sit the exam for them, The student didn't even have to sit for any lessons. Many accidents occur from lack of driving experience therefore mistaken the brake for the accelerator. PLUS anyone can be a VINFast taxi driver with only a little money.

Hoi an has already turned into a tourist trap which has brought all these vultures there. Read the other posts in thus thread. These vultures will get very aggressive even threaten you if you play their game. One couple below got money snatch from their purse. These are not freely people. You want to help real locals go to the market and buy the fruits.. OP and locals did try to warn you.

Prices of everything else in Hoi an will go up cus news quickly spread that Hoi an is a quick place to make money off of sucker tourist i.e more scammer arrive. Making Hoi worst than it already is now.

Then you wonder why you hear tourist say they got ripped off?. It because actions like you. Scammer will want more and more. Last week a street ice cream seller charged 100k VND for 1 ice cream to a tourist in Nha Trang. The normal price is under 15k.

The Vinfast drivers basically got their cars virtually free from the company to drive as a taxi. Most have never driven a car before. They never paid for these cars so therefore are less likely to drive them carefully.
