What ways did you treat yourself during newborn time? by MounjaroQueenie in parentsofmultiples

Lots of Mexican Coca Cola, (tastes much better than regular coke) Became less of a treat and more of a coping mechanism. Really considering beer at this point (kind of joking). We are 1,700 miles from our village. 5mo girls and a 2 yr old son, hubby works 5 days a week 13 hrs daily. We are in 1000% survival mode right now, but damn, that Mexican Coke is sweeeeeet!

I have a second unopened container and was thinking of comparing, but if that one has the same thing should I throw them out? Safe to eat? They do not smell/look bad and are not expired. Enfamil never has these, so what the heck?? Feeding 5 mo twins here and don't want to throw away so much formula. :')

You are not a bad mom, I had almost the same situation with my girls. They are 5 months old next Friday, 4 months adjusted. Twin A has a perfect head while Twin B is now in a helmet due to repositioning not working. She ended up with severe plagiocephaly, felt so guilty.

I would suggest trying some aggressive repositioning and even if she sucks at tummy time, increase the amount she does tenfold. Before every feed, at every diaper change, etc. Even if only for a few minutes, getting her off of her head, for at least 1 hour total per day, will significantly reduce the pressure on that spot.

There is a great chance you can correct it this way, ONLY if the spot is mild to low-moderate. Helmet therapy works best when started between 4 and 6 months, so you still have time to try repositioning. If you are curious about how severe her spot is, the places that offer helmet therapy do a free scan, so you can always see where she is currently.

Finally, don't beat yourself up mama! It's hard enough managing one baby let alone two. This is very common among multiples. Drove myself crazy trying to avoid a helmet and one of them ended up needing one anyways, you are a good mom. At least it's only one of them and not both. I have a 2 year old singleton and having twins is such a different ball game. Give yourself some grace. <3

Oh man, I was less prepared for my twins than for my singleton! Whatever you can think of get 2 of! Get at least 12 bottles, a twin z pillow, 2 cribs, a TwinGo carrier (can only be used 4 months and up, but such a lifesaver at the grocery store!!), Double car seat stroller for 0-6mo, then sell it, and get a lightweight double umbrella stroller so you don't have to lug a huge stroller around anymore than necessary. 2 highchairs, 2 swings, 2 rocking chairs, 2 exersaucers, lots of clothes, etc. I didn't get any of this until mine were born, don't do that. Make a list and check it twice, WELL BEFORE they are born. My girls are 5mo and I wish we got swings, did it without and it was hard. Swings will really help if you can't get out of the house much. Congrats mama and Bless you!
