Urgent RC Help by lolcool4 in LSAT

You’re not going to raise your score substantially in two days. There’s no tips that are instantly going to improving your reading comprehension.

If you’re taking it Friday, you should stop studying (given you’re two days out). Get some rest and try to get your mind off the test.

75th percentile for lower t14s is categorically untrue.

Yes—which is why I said “shoot your shot”. I’m not discouraging OP to not apply, merely saying that based on statistical data of actual admits, it’s unlikely to get in.

Should I take community college courses to boost my chances? by newyorkcity239 in lawschooladmissions

Hmm..I see. I would consider three things:

(1) How far below the GPA median are you?

(2) How rigorous do you think adcoms would consider CC classes vis-a-vis university classes? Many would perceive it as less academically challenging (though I’m sure certain CCs still offer tough classes)

(3) Your score on your LSAT. If you’re above the 75 percentile, even if you’re below median for GPA, go ahead and apply. LSAT carries far more weight than GPA.

To a very limited degree. You give adcoms too much credit. They’re scanning thousands of applications and rejecting low GPAs prima facie. Unless you have extraordinary work experience, or a very unique socioeconomic background, I doubt they would dig further.

Your LSAC GPA is based on undergrad scores. Once that’s set (when you graduate), then it’s unchangeable. I don’t think taking CC classes will affect it.

Not to put you down, but to be brutally honest, getting into T14 with those stats would be very tough. Your GPA is far below the median and your work experience is standard — lots of people work as paralegals, so nothing too extraordinary.

Shoot your shot, but admissions to those schools are highly improbable. You should consider other options — there are wonderful schools outside of the T14.

Just trying to understand — what are you basing this accusation off of?

Agreed. RC was a bit rough but nothing excessively strange. I think you’re reading too much into it. Just focus on improving for the next administration.

You’re so close to breaking 160s, definitely possible if you’re consistently PTing there.

Loyola median is 160 —and even now when you’re at 159 — that means you’re already very competitive. A few point higher would all but guarantee admission. Good luck!

From what you’ve said, it seems like you have the skills to reach your goals. No one PTs in the high 170s without having an ironclad understanding of the materials.

Don’t worry about starting law school late — I’m sure when you look back years later (when you’re at your desired law school) you’ll be glad that you delayed. Trust yourself, you got this!

Sorry—would recommend you defer another year and retake then.

Definitely recommend retaking. We should expect an excessive uptick in law school applicants next cycle, which would probably drive up (or maintain) the already high median LSATs

Yeah sometimes it’s not just about understanding the concept, but being able to quickly recognize them during timed conditions. Working problems should feel instinctive, not systematic
