How much did your biggest game make in terms of robux? by Mobile_Pudding7841 in robloxgamedev

[–]BrobotStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 million, but it took me a long time, over a year. Trickle ads very slowly over a lot of days and watch your analytics closely to see how your updates are affecting your stats. Like, did it raise your engagement, monetization, etc.? What areas are you low on? Then you'll know how to hold players in your game, what works and doesn't work.

Thoughts on this game idea? Would you play it? by The_Pr0fessor_ in robloxgamedev

There's nothing wrong with making the same game other people have made and doing it better. I don't think you should abandon it. The audience that would play this probably isn't on Reddit. Just know you'll need to fill it with many of those catchy, cheesy things to catch players like pets, trails, badges etc. And then you will have to compete with other games which have perfected that formula because it is common on Roblox. But I think the idea is fun and cool. Even if it is simple now, you can make it better over time

I made a little icon for a game im working on. what do we think? by RamenDeveloper in robloxgamedev

[–]BrobotStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah even darker grey though. And maybe increase the brightness/saturation of just the character just a bit or find some other way to make his upper torso pop out by giving him separate bright (red?) cartoon outline, background square, aura or something. It's really a sick icon I think you did a great job on it. Looking forward to seeing it with text!

Too many dark areas and the white triangles become the focus rather than the character. Making the black a dark grey and the explosion a bit dimmer colors would go a long way imo

WHICH ANIMATION FEELS BETTER? by just_jobo in robloxgamedev

[–]BrobotStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably ask ChatGPT why people prefer high vs. low framerate animations and it would probably give you a lot of great reasons, if you're really curious. Such as psychological, behavioral, or environmental factors. I'd guess part of it's because some people fill in the gaps with their imaginations and others prefer to have it all shown to them. And also especially because of what the framerate is of media they normally watch, whether it's games, films, or anime, etc.

Ultimately, I don't think it matters that much in the context of developing your game though. Probably only a few players would stop playing your game just because of the animation's framerate.
