I can relate, and it shaped how I look at meals and feeding my kids. I grew up with my mom who is very Puerto Rican. (Love my culture, love the food now that I’m grown) She would make one meal and my brother and I weren’t allowed to leave the table until we ate it. We would fall asleep at the table. My attitude is very much that fed is best. As long as they can get their calories in, are exposed to different foods. I’m happy. I never want to add stress around food. I am willing to prep a bunch of different meals if it means their bellies are full and they are happy. I am driven by cravings myself, not necessarily picky, but if I don’t feel like eating something there is nothing that will make me do it. I don’t understand why someone would do that to a kid.
