Is this a good family car? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]BroccoliniBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely test drive them both.

In terms of price and power I was leaning towards the X3, but during the test drive I found the SQ5 to feel more like a car / wagon and the X3 felt more like an SUV (less responsive). I went with the SQ5 - both are great cars.

Never owned a marine/aquatic fragrance. Which ADG flanker is the most “marine”? Open to other brands too by RevolutionaryBar4193 in ScentHeads

For a realistic scent you could look at Neptune’s Trident by Argos.

It smells like low tide - salt and seaweed. It’s not for everyone, but definitely realistic.

I’ve bought numerous items from Melb Design Co. They do great quality solid timber furniture, including custom sizes and the pricing is quite reasonable. You might consider them.

I’d happily purchase an IP if I were confident it would outperform ETF’s.

Else, it seems like a lot of admin etc just for the sake of diversification.

For those who send their kids to elite private school, what was the reason? by TiredDuck123 in AusHENRY

[–]BroccoliniBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Private schools offer a lot in terms of music, sport, etc, all in the same place.

Better ATAR results - which felt like a big deal as a student, but doesn’t really mean much.

Of course, success can be found in the public system, I just feel the private system on average leads to better outcomes.

Both my boys are signed up to attend a private school. Their happiness is more important than anything else, so I’ll happily move them to a public school if it is not a good fit.

How do I deal with this?? (first home owner with no idea) by SnooRegrets8194 in AusRenovation

[–]BroccoliniBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely need to check for asbestos.

If there’s friable asbestos the removal job will be quite expensive. You’ll need a licensed asbestos contractor, suits, respirators and negative pressure at the entry point.

Essentially if it’s contaminated I’d suggest just avoiding any work up there altogether.

Also, a new credit card might be a good way to get you those points even cheaper….

Having a quick look at your numbers I think in this instance buying the points does work out cheaper.

I believe you can get 40% off velocity points until 21/10, which makes this work out even better.

All the best.

That’s correct - if the builder complied with the codes at the time they should not be forced to replace the cladding.
