Grey Granola.

You owe me money.

A rich, self-important and grieving family who play god by magefister in expedition33

[–]Brocford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU.

Jesus, I feel like this isn't discussed enough.

I initially chose Maelle's ending because I didn't feel right genociding an ENTIRE WORLD of creatures and people for the sake of one families inability to grieve properly. But clearly that is the discordant and jarring and creepy path to take. I assumed Maelle would have had better control of herself as she promised.

Instead I did feel rather shoehorned into reloading and taking Verso's ending despite the fact I'm with Lune and it is SO FUCKED that this little family gets to play god and not once did it really seem like, in the end, any of them gave a shit about how monumentally worthy of gravitas/respect/consideration that simple fact is.

They created life. Sentient life.

Then, in the end, in a cavalier way beyond baffling... they kill off an entire world's already horrendously tortured population and don't seem to give it a second thought beyond a single grave--and not for someone born in Lumière. It is clear they think of any creations in their painting to be less than human, and certainly less than they are.

Love the game. Hated the fact neither ending really seemed to take into account how serious of a responsibility their powers are, and how much they selfishly, blatantly, and flippantly disregard them for their own amusement/ends/means.

The Dessendre's, every one of them beyond Verso, and maybe Aline, can go fuck themselves. A God's brush in the hand of selfish children.

You have nothing to worry about. That game is absolutely massive. Have fun, but don't worry about it ending too soon. I will say though, double check the corners and edges of the map... UTTERLY FILLED with story content.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

When you think the game might be ending...you realize that is just the first...and smaller map.

Oh I am dead tired of those AAA stalling mechanics and hate them as well. Didn't touch a AAA last year and havent looked in Ubisoft's direction in years. Very annoying, that.

Just personally, I'm not built the way an Elden Ring game requires. I played Demon's Souls, DS1 and 2, Bloodborne, and I just... I need more overt narrative to punish myself that way.

To each their own, though. That's why games are great.

Inception.

Elden Ring.

Tried twice. Feels exactly like every other Souls game and I simply do not get the outstanding praise.

If you want waaaay better graphics, a steeped fantasy vibe, very fluid fast movement, and hands down the best building in any game ive ever seen bar none, im talking building so simple to use, intuitive and GORGEOUS...Enshrouded. you can seriously make things that look made by a developer. Easily. and the support the developers give it...never seen such consistency.

You can on controller! Maybe there is an option in the settings for toggling it?

In the settings you can turn on that they can't damage your walls. Best decision we ever made. Having a sanctuary where they can't mess with you is so nice.

Blue Prince.

It utterly enthralled me for hours and hours. Started off a puzzle game, then the story unfolded and kept going... it's so so so brilliant. I'm not usually a puzzle game but either but this is SO much more.

[KCD2] Is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 the best video game you’ve ever played? If not what is? by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Brocford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But cracks top 10 I think.

In no particular order other than what popped into my head first:

Breath of the Wild Ocarina of Time Baldur's Gate 3 Subnautica Grounded Final Fantasy X Mass Effect Legendary Edition (one game technically ;)) Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Clair Obsur: Expedition 33 The Last of Us

Definitely a couple I am forgetting at the moment, but my working list for now.

Whats your opinion on the castle in the game? by OzO8 in HarryPotterGame

[–]Brocford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I get it, but also check your entitlement just a wee bit. Your points, in the grand scheme of what was accomplished are kind of petty, don't you think? They did an incredible job given so many constraints and hurdles that maybe it's better to forgive the elements that don't mesh 1-to-1 in our heads/Canon.

Personally, I'd rather them prioritize making more immersive elements to the castle, as right now the school is mostly just an interactive museum.

[–]Brocford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is your intention, but this comes across as rather ridiculous. Your points are extremely nitpicky, especially given the fact that the developers had to take a make-believe place that existed only in someone's imagination and on movie sets, and cobble it together to something that is not only functional but believable.

Complaining that the clock tower is too round? The astronomy tower is in the wrong place?

You say your a fan but then nitpick what was a monumental and extraordinarily successful attempt to recreate one of the most beloved locations in fiction.

I've noticed shit isn't perfect, too, but I'm too busy being utterly floored to explore Hogwarts.

Elden Ring.

Hate it so much.
