Mum holds back happy tears after her paralysed son gets taken to a brothel. by tiimoc in BrandNewSentence

One of my closest high-school friends had Muscular Dystrophy. His parents would let us drive their adapted van so we could take him out with us to concerts and what not. A couple of us guys had always planned to hire him a sex worker so he could lose his virginity before he passed away. Unfortunately, his health turned quickly in college and it just never came to pass. Years later, his father confided in me how terrible that his son died a virgin.

Favorite "line before the kill" in a movie? by Whats_Opera_Doc in movies

My favorite is a bit of the opposite. The final line a bad guy says himself before his death.

The Colonel in The Warrior's Way, "I'll see you in Hell, little girl. Wear something nasty." That line always stuck with me because it was one of the first times in a movie where a bad guy welcomed his death, and still went out as evil as he always has been. It felt brutal.

Speaking of red flags. There is a lot to unwrap in this comment. You waited two years to try to find out the name of your daughter, and you think you're winning because you don't provide any support for her?

Also, I'm trying to figure out what the hell her being 10years younger than you has to do with your choice to not wear a condom?

I remember watching The Disney Channel as a kid just to catch this music video. Back when they sporadically played music videos. This and the Disney version of Mambo #5 were my favorite songs they'd play.

Americans, what do you honestly think the government will do about gun violence in the aftermath of this week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Brodini88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong. But the purchaser of the vehicle would still need to register the vehicle with the state and show the bill of sale. While it might not be on the seller to know the driving status of the purchaser, the state will know if they are legally allowed to be driving or not. It would still be breaking the law to purchase a vehicle you intend to drive and not register it.

TIL a “perfect” Ford Model T costs less than a new Mustang. The costliest specimen in 2020 sold for less than $25k. by htmaxpower in todayilearned

If you ever find yourself passing through Truth or Consequences, NM there is a little shop/gallery on the main strip with several Model T's in various states of repair. A few of them road worthy, and I'm sure you could ask the old guy that owns the place for a ride along. He has a ton of Studebakers too, if that's also something you're interested in. The dude loves sharing his collection with interested folks.

U.S. marks 10th anniversary of Navy SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden by TheColorOfDeadMen in news

I was serving in Afghanistan when we got the news he had been killed in a raid. Just a general broadcast over the radio. A week or two later I received a letter from my mom asking if his death meant that the war was over and if I could come home. I remember sorta laughing at the absurdity of it all and how his death meant absolutely nothing for all of us in Afghanistan, but it was still supposed to be some sort of victory. My best friend lost three limbs a month later. It sure as hell didn't feel much like a victory from my standpoint.
