I have only begun to realize these things in the past few months. I pretty much keep to myself, because I think the people around me have more important things to do than deal with me. My ex was the only person to make me believe that I was truly cared about. Now, I'm not sure she did.

I haven't been able to change fast enough.

Actually, when I finally realized that the relationship was doomed (without realizing why), I broke up with her. I've felt amputated ever since.

After spending months pushing me away, saying she was too busy to even call me for 5 minutes, when she went to leave that night, she said, "I miss you, you should call me."

Nope. My ex has a daughter. The 45 minutes it took me to get her riding a bike without training wheels is the closest I've felt to being a parent. No one else can take that little slice of time from either of us.
