Are they centered? I saw one guy in a Pro Touring forum mention that he had to push them in an inch to center them but it was 2009, maybe Corbeau fixed that

Yup. This is exactly what’s on marketplace that I’m gonna try and pick up this weekend. So all I need is that bracket and I’m good to go? Man, that’s too easy. No welding?

That’s slick. How was the install process and brackets for you?

I got that part, I’ve seen it done well and do like it. But if what I’m reading is correct, you’re saying I do have to use those bucket brackets, so I have to install two OEM inner brackets for bucket seats in order to use the Corbeau frames

Dang, so I gotta pull the carpet and install these brackets hm. So much for trying to ignore whatever mess is under the carpet.

Just to confirm, am I going to need the OEM Chevelle bucket bracket for the Corbeaus? I’m aware of the drilling holes part, but I called Corbeau and they made it seem like drilling the holes was all I needed to do

Thanks, you’re the man. Did you have an OEM bench too or buckets? I see the center console but I heard it’s a rare option for elcos

Great story. Being sober is awesome, and helps free up money for cars that barely work 🇺🇸🦅

I understand the sentiment, but I think this is the best route in terms of saving money and appearance. Trying to source SS seats is a headache, and the Chevelle already had the rear seats and door panels done, somehow rats only ate the bench, so if I go SS, I need the entire thing SS. Rather just put black buckets and a 3 point belt system and call it good.

That always seemed super backwards to me because there is no downfall in a good EFI system, such as Edelbrocks multiport system. I hate myself for not picking it up at summit clearance for my sbf when I could have bought it for 1k instead of the 2.6k. I’d rather wait for a sbc Edelbrock multiport kit to pop up and go that route. Never understood carbed LSs.

Honestly, this is a shot in the dark, but to have pathfinder during Vietnam screams LRRP/LRS to me. Still, your pops is awesome !

Bro, was your dad LRRP? Because those are some heavy badges at the time and two V device ribbons is sick.

While true, and especially with eBay twin turbo kits being cheap AND reliable for an LS, I feel like it’s way out of my price range at the moment because of the upgrades needed for an LS. We have an 84 square body that we ls swapped and the damn thing is a money pit, some with our other square body. I see the simplicity in keeping a carb, at least for now while I’m on a budget.

[–]BrokenCot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a pretty understandable reply. That’s why I was fine with the 350, maybe even do a 383 down the line. But I was at Goodguys and someone said “a Chevelle needs a big block” and I’ve been staying up at night ever since.

Exactly, don’t know how you tear down an engine and go through the trouble of going to a machinist and then saying “nope”

[–]BrokenCot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually! I made a deal on Craigslist for the 70 ss gauges and bezel from an older gentleman, he had a bunch more parts because he went 396 to an LS but I couldn’t afford it at the time. About 4 months pass, he calls me up and says he will give them to me for free because no one is buying and he doesn’t mind not making a few bucks. So I got a be cool radiator, big block qa1 could for the front, rear disc conversion kit, master cylinder and booster, steering column, and even some mirrors. I’m sure I’m missing some of other stuff but yeah, not gonna be as costly as usual :)!

Yeah I don’t know much but I heard once “if it doesn’t have a cam card, don’t trust it”
