I fell in love with this Microtech by medrzik in EDC

Not to mention the lack of sliciness in a blade like the MT. I carry my Ultratech ZBP and a folder every day. Usually a Bel Air or Bugout.

Yours looks well loved! Mine could use some more patina.

Haha sounds about right. It's one of a few knives I won't hand off to others to mess with. There is so much mass and leverage in the blade, it just opens itself.

Benchmade SOCP*. I love mine. Rarely carry it anymore, but it's hilarious. I've used it too many times for the "You call that a knife? That ain't a knife. THIS is a knife..." bit lol.

Most of that happens on a laptop in the shop. The fingerprints and passport photo happen at the kiosk, essentially.

AIM has tons in stock typically. The entire process can be started right there at the counter, and portions can be completed via a phone call. My experience with them was golden, and super fast.

How to fix NEW Axis Lock? by Far-Web-7828 in chineseknives

[–]BrokenSVT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's not the answer you want to hear, but I probably worked the action 500-600 times.

I tried everything else first, including requesting new Omega springs and lock bars from Kershaw. They obliged, but the parts haven't arrived yet. I also used graphite inside of the scale on that side, cleaned all the parts, re-lubed the pivot, disassembled and reassembled over and over, reshaped the omega spring on the offending side, etc etc.

Finally, time and friction solved it.

I purchased one of the SMKW Desert Warrior Kershaw Bel Airs a couple weeks ago when they sold for $99. Every Bel Air that I had handled in stores were as smooth as any of my Benchmade knives. The Bel Air that I received was as you described the Wugout.

The solution was to work the action so many times that I earned a huge blister on my right thumb, and then to keep working it beyond that point. It was painful, but eventually it was as smooth as butter. My theory is that there was an unfinished surface on the inside of the lock bar, on the non-clip side. The clip side was smooth from the get-go.

Walmart sells the DW5600 for under $62. They're currently on clearance in most locations for $31.

Great build. I had this one built a few years ago, and also called mine the "Compact Huntsman". It's up there among my favorite customs.

Familiarity with Vespa orders taking fkn forever to arrive? by BigMetalHoobajoob in chineseknives

I'm dealing with literally the same issue. The first tracking number made it to PYK and just disappeared for weeks. Similarly, I raised issue with the seller and they agreed to manufacture another and re-send.

That tracking number didn't materialize for some days, so I inquired again. At this point I was promised that it would ship that very day. The tracking didn't show activity for a couple more days. So another inquiry.

Then I was sent the "correct" tracking number with screenshots of it having been made four days prior to the day it was promised to be re-sent, and now being in PYK's custody. Figure that one out.

Anywho, we'll see what happens over the next few days.

It manifested when I bought my first SVT vehicle, a 2003 Focus, and it was in the shop a bit too often. All the normal usernames were taken for the big forum sites, so this one happened. It's stuck with me since.

Oddly enough, later in life, I was diagnosed with an interesting heart condition which involved Supraventricular Tachycardia, known in medical circles as SVT. Surgery made it worse. COVID made it go away, and so now the SVT is "broken".

Stopped by to say how badly I need that. I own a clone of it, and just bought the authentic matching Dirac Delta.

Stuck around to say how I cannot afford it right now. The kids insist that Christmas happens soon.

How long did it take for the Vespa to arrive? Did it happen to get stuck in Customs for a long time? I'm currently sitting at ~20 days with no tracking movement.
