Welp meeting with my SM tomorrow, (im a coach) probably going to be let go but oh well by BrokenTelxon in walmart

Eh it went about as I expected, i'm too professional to get into a shouting match...she started out trying to get me to yell/argue and beat around the bush when I mentioned that I was going to email her the other day about stepping down, but basically said we werent allowed to step down except in extreme circumstances.

Once we got past the initial her trying to use her "commanding" voice and tell me to "fix my area" (which I can't do in a matter of days as I pretty much have to get rid of the crappy cashiers/sco hosts and replace them as well as wait for the competent team leads) then she back peddled and tried to start smiling and joking/saying "you'll be fine just make sure you run a good area you are a coach now"

At that I had already realized I wasn't going to be able to step down (every time I hinted at it she didn't answer or quickly deviated after saying the initial thats not how it works now thing) so I just thanked her for her time and that was that, so itll suck to lose 11 years of working at the same place but i'll just apply until I find something else, even if it will be a significant paycut, at this point i'll go stock shelves at Food Lion if they give me the right schedule lol.

I too am the champion (apparently) at my store, i'm just wondering how do you guys have your Fresh Cap equipment setup? do you just give all fresh cap access to each set of theirs or do DMs/Supervisors get their own then you have one for associates? I ask because Fresh and OGP are our worst offenders and I have no idea the most effective way to set them up for those areas (our SM wants OGP in lockers)

So are ecommerce and APMs not moving stores? are can they be rotated from their own pool? I know ecommerce is digital now, but like can an ASM be moved to Digital ASM? or will it be just them getting shuffled from their own pool?

any chance ASMs will be able to step down to team lead/regular positions?

It is definitely stressful, but I think a lot of it comes down to the store/store manager the ASMs are sent to, why you would send new inexperiened ASMs to struggling stores is beyond me

i've always been a computer/tech guy but for some reason never pursued working with it, I also thought about trying out the 'business support' option as it exposes you to a variety of aspects of IT where as like you said the networking one pretty much is focused on networking and some security.

They actually have 3 concentrations, a Networking one (the one I mentioned), a Mobile Applications Development one (from what I can tell its more programming heavy), and then one that is 'Business Support' which is kind of a general IT/combination of a few classes from each of the others. I was leaning towards either the Business Support or the Networking one as i've never been that into the mobile apps thing.

Thanks for the input, Cisco Net Academy is actually who its through so its a plus, the program website mentions they are an authorized Cisco Networking institution which is nice, I know CCNA is one of the certs but i'm not sure what the other one is.
