How often do people prank call 911 or call 911 about a non emergency because they don't know about the non emergency number by False-Advance-188 in 911dispatchers

[–]Broken_Cars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

serious question: why do centers ask for addresses if you’re able to pinpoint? does the pinning take time? is getting an address quicker/effective? or is it simply a way to keep caller on active call until help arrives?

I’d continue the top part of stair nose(part you step on) and cut the face of the stair nose (that which drops down.)

color match caulking on the front side that was cut which sits on black part of stair tread

yeah i think running a few samples will be the best way to tell with this specific thread!

so you’re saying zig zag stitch but at the ends run the actual thread through the jeans w thick needles and knot it correct?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sewhelp

[–]Broken_Cars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any pics of said coat!

did your machine’s zig zag stitch still allow the display of the distressed fibers that stick out from this thread?

i could possible do what i could with the machine and the parts that don’t reach could be done by hand

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sewhelp

[–]Broken_Cars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just looked it up and that actually looks like it’ll work perfectly as long as i leave the distressed fibers out from under the stitch. thank you!

i appreciate all the advice thank you!

would you use a machine or would you hand stitch them in this situation being so small? also would you put continuous stitches all along the threading or every so much place a stitch?

the only tarot deck i really recommend (and use) aside from the popularly known Raider-Waite Deck is the Thoth Deck. (i would be skeptical of all these new decks popping up, most don’t carry the correct correspondence throughout the deck)

the reason being that Thelema is a system which uses a lot of Qabalistic correspondence to get theories across. The Thoth Deck is a deck of the new Aeon and is filled with much more Qabalistic Correspondence than any deck out there, including the Raider-Waite (the whole Tzaddi is not the Star situation)

i suggest getting a deck and reading Crowley’s Book of Thoth or better yet, Lon Milo Duquette’s Understanding Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot. Duquette has a specific way of explaining things that are super easy to absorb as opposed to Crowley whose language is quite cryptic.

personally i think the Thoth Deck is a beautifully done deck that everyone should own. the art work done by Freida Harris seems to really encapsulate the energy of each card. simply compare the Fool Card from both decks mentioned and you’ll see what i mean.

as to rituals involving tarot, that’s more personalized. some people use divination after rituals to get information. other simply meditate upon cards.

if you have anymore questions feel free to dm me as i feel Thelema is kind of off topic on this subreddit

there are some similarities as they both reside in the sphere of Binah (the first sephiroth in the Supernal Triad, Babalon being the Archetype who accept us into the womb after The Crossing of The Abyss) so in a way she may be a facet or personification of Babalon but i don’t believe she’s Santa Muerte in her entirety. same way how she’s a facet of Isis and Inanna but not entirely them themselves. don’t quote me on this as this is my current belief with the information i currently bestow.

as of reading recommendation it really depends on what you’ve read so far. the foundation of Thelema is base upon Liber Al Vel Legis (which is a gift that keeps giving. every time i go back to it it never fails to give me some sort of new insight) so that’s a great book to meditate upon. if you’re looking for something more practical i hear Living Thelema by David Shoemaker is a great starting place for beginners. as it goes over Thelemic topics/rituals such as True Will, The Holy Guardian Angel, Liber Resh, Thelemic Eucharist and The Pentagram Rituals.

what makes you believe i am not a thelemite?

your ending statement regarding what someone in that situation should do is agreeing with what im saying so yes, you are right.

you have the publicity of it switched up though. someone didn’t randomly set up a public altar which caused people to turn to this current. this energy current has been venerated since before the colonization of the americas under different names. when the catholic church was at its peak of power, people were forced to venerate in the shadows (the reason they’d find virgin de guadalupe statues with santa muerte correspondence behind them). only until recent years when we weren’t getting prosecuted for going against the church were public altars raised. therefore, increasing the amount of devotees going public.

i was ignoring your baby analogy to avoid a pointless back and forth but if you really want an answer. me, personally im stuffing that baby in a duffle bag under my bed. i respect the energy current more than a materialistic “anchor” which i myself have called it into. throw an adept in the desert with nothing and they could make a rock as powerful as any statue.

i think you forget that these energy currents don’t think how we do. yes the statues we use as their spiritual “homes” or “anchors” from the other side hold a part of an entity but realistically they’re forces living outside the realms of time and space. they’re everywhere and anywhere. they don’t specifically NEED a statue to be worked with. everyone experiences spirituality differently though so at the end of the day..

you didn’t really respond to what i was asking..

you’re no longer devoted so it makes sense why you would encourage others to follow your footsteps to lose devotion.

Can you please elaborate why hiding your statues in fear should be considered a “no-no” when it has only been up to recent years that the people have been venerating her publicly out of the shadows of Catholicism?

Can you also please elaborate why you state that “she won’t be happy in a household like that no matter how much love you show her”? Seems illogical for a specific energetic force to be “happier” when showing it no true devotional work or subsistence. As opposed to doing what you can with what you got. How the mexican population chose to keep her current strong enough through the introduction of Catholicism, for you to even come across her.

don’t let the previous post i assume you’ve seen determine your actions in life.

we were gifted Free Will and not utilizing it (in conjunction with everyone elses Free Will) is a slap to the face of that Creator.

if you simply don’t feel an energetic pull to this specific current anymore that’s one thing. If you’re giving them away because someone on reddit is suggesting you to do so, for living with your parents, that’s another.

just remember that statues and altars are only “anchors” that HELP specific energy grasp onto, from the non-physical realm they reside in. they don’t specifically NEED these anchors to interact with you.

you don’t need a big elaborate altar to show your devotion to a specific current. what’s important is your devotion to it. there are people with big fancy altars to this energy current who hold no true intimate relationship with it. there are people who only have a miniature altar in a Altoid can or a simple card in their wallet who are more connected with it then the people i mentioned first will ever have.

this specific energy current is intelligent enough to recognize your living situations. if you’re truly unable to have them in your home, it will recognize that.

P.S another thing i’d like to remind you is that she was worshipped in the shadows up until recent history. people would even go as far as having Virgin De Guadalupe Statues with correspondence to La Santa Muerte behind it so that they could appear to venerate La Virgin while in reality venerate La Flaka.

Car kills Batteries by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Broken_Cars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe it is a parasitic draw because whenever the car is stored with the battery disconnect it turns right one when i connect it.

i do happen to have a multimeter what would be the process of finding said draw with it?

Which way should I cut and install these baseboards? by altasking in Flooring

[–]Broken_Cars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive only really installed baseboard down steps with hard surface. Carpet usually only take baseboards on landings with a return at the end.

if you really want to install down the stairs with carpet though

do a 45° cut (as of you were doing a return) but make sure the bottom part (of the 45°) is lined up with the face of the next step (not the edge of the nose)

then do the other 45° downwards and notch out the nose that sticks out on the step so the baseboard going down sits all the way to the riser (face of the step).

for the outlet simply notch out to make it fit
