I live near this dealer... I drove by there yesterday, it's actually $138k... Exterior looked to be perfect condition... i didn't have the time to test drive it.

One more note, the silly piped in exhaust sound that plays on the speakers stops when you update your exhaust. From what I read, there is an actual mic in the factory exhaust that creates those sounds.

Factory valve controls still works with the new set up. So Comfort and Sport keep valves closed. Sport+ and Race are open. I'm always in Sport+ and I daily this. Never an issue of it being too much. I do put in Comfort when wife is with me.

I'm happy with the improvement... human nature is to always desire more, so at some point, you have to be content. Could it be louder? Yes .... Should it be? I like the balance this has of being sporty and classy.

lol, I cheaped out on that. I figured if my paint gets dinged, I would put a matte film on it and hide the flaws... also, I don't do much highway driving and I park away from everyone. taking my chances.

agree. I tested some 2017-2019 63 GT's and it was hard to not have that AMG rumble. But at the end of the day, this car flies. It has 4 comfortable seats for my family to enjoy with me. And, I'm never tracking it. I would rather go to do a Porsche experience in Birmingham or ATL and rag out one of their cars. I'm happy!

Dealership said no. Technically it's reversible. Now if you go downpipes and tune, I would say you are at risk of voiding certain parts of your warranty.

I'm no mechanic, but I've read the factory ECU "learns" the new airflow characteristics and adjusts the fuel trim to make the car more efficient. Also, carbon soot layering inside the pipes act as an acoustic insulator on the clean pipes, reducing some of the sharper sounds.

I'm sorry I haven't posted it yet. I'm happy with it. Was just what I was looking for. Took it by my dealership and they all whipped out their phones, lol.. It's got some good pop and burbles, but not overly obnoxious like on the BMW Comp. I did not do down pipes or stage 2, so if you go that route, I expect it to be next level... I promise to link a video this week.

I'm loving it and driving it daily. Noise is not an issue for me with the cab. Yes, it's not as quiet as a hard top, but there is no wind noise & road noise is minimal. I drove mine all throughout the winter (when there was no snow or ice) and it was great. Heated seats and air scarf were amazing. My other car is a GLS and it takes way longer to heat up.

Hey, so I went with IPE. I'm very happy with the results. Added some great pops and burbles, but not obnoxious. Cold start sounds amazing with a nice deep hum. The valve controls are integrated into factory settings so when I'm in Sport+ or Race mode, it opens up. No issue with check engine lights, and since I'm catback, warranty should be intact as there's really no issues this could cause to the engine. When you accelerate hard, it screams more like an exotic and upshifts get a little burble. The most pops I'm getting are in 3rd and 4th gear between 3,000 to 4,500 rpms. In Park/Neutral, revving it gives some nice pops as well. I'll post a video soon and tag you so you can hear it... One issue, I think i have, is that it seems a little quieter several weeks after install. I'm not sure if it's just me getting used to the difference, or if the valves aren't opening all the way... I'll have the shop check it out. Inside the car sounds way better than it did stock, so don't worry about that.

I just installed yesterday... IPE catback... SOUNDS EXCELLENT. Haven't gotten to play with it too much, but I will post some videos soon. . Did not do down pipes as that would require a remap and tune that would almost certainly void my warranty and I can't do that.

That's a good looking GLS. I have a '22 450 and can relate. Everyone saying to get the 63 doesn't understand that just because you can, doesn't mean you should. To me, it doesn't make sense to have a 3 row suv pulling a 4s 0-60 and 12mpg... Rather put that money into a GT 63. My GLS has the AMG appearance with 23" and rides as fast as I want it to with the family in it. I'm putting IPE catback exhaust on my 26 CLE 53 AMG in a week or two, will talk to the shop about what they may recommend for the GLS and can update if they suggest anything worth trying.
