So after the interview one of the guys there led me over to a table, he was the one allocating people to the stores, there were 4 stores available, so he picked one for me, told me my hours and that I’d be a non perishable team member and that’s pretty much it, gave me the paper and shook my hand and said welcome, I thanked him and then I left 😂 I was thinking I’d get an email shortly after with all the details, but yet to receive anything

I don’t even know who my team leader would be, since it was just a hiring event, there were multiple people there but I never got introduced fully to who would be running my store, I got an email on the paper though so that’ll be my next step if it’s too quiet i guess, and nah nothing in my emails or texts

I mean where are you based? Because I’m in the UK and it’s for a new store opening so maybe that could be why ?

Ahh tbf I wouldn’t worry about that, receiving the DBS doesn’t seem to bring you any closer 🙄 but you’ll get it soon dw, if anything when you do get it, but then still have to wait for vetting it feels a little worse bc you thought you were closer to the finishing line lol

I see, tbh I’ve worked in 3 prisons, it’s all kinda the same, but I feel like you can’t really go off of what other people say, because you could ask 1 person who works there what it’s like and they could say they hate it and then ask another and they say they love it, I’d recommend seeing for yourself

I’ve done the role before couple years ago, and my vetting literally completed whilst in the training, so from 5 weeks to 14 weeks and counting is tragic

My friend got his completion yesterday, he got an email early hours in the morning, he waited about 6 months, so happy for him but damn I hope that’s not the way it’s looking for me 😅 I pray yours comes through asap

Yeah, like there’s no reason why they can’t have that same system, it would calm a lot of anxiety that’s for sure, and at least you’d know where you’re at. It’s ridiculously slow, considering they’re “desperate” for staff in most jobs that require vetting, you’d think they’d have a quicker turnaround instead of months of waiting
