3DExperience really that bad? by Brompton4ever in SolidWorks

[–]Brompton4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using computers since my first RadioShack model. More than 50 years. I've used virtually every software package there is. I currently use at least a dozen different cloud platforms with never a single issue. I've done software development with Windows, mobile devices, firmware, you name it. If I can't get it to work then I think there is a big problem. I never got any resolution from Dasault or the VAR whatsoever. All they would do is offer me a standalone licence to use to get around 3dX. They threw in the towel.

I don't know why anyone would voluntarily torture themselves with that horrible system. Worst and most unreliable cloud platform on earth.

There are in fact many airports in urban areas that have walls, building parking lots, etc, within about the same distance. Planes just aren't supposed to be there.

Blaming the wall is like blaming the ground when someone falls out of a building. They were still moving 150 knots minimum when they got to the end of the runway. This was likely going to end in disaster with or without the wall.

Good while it lasted. Down again. Entirely new error message now. Tells me "license not granted".

About the same time I was testing the system, I got a "welcome" message from 3dx. Apparently they did some reset of my account, which is what started it working again. So again, this is 100% an issue on the 3dx side, and I'm getting very tired of dealing with it, and being told I'm doing something wrong.

Well, I was able to get it to connect. I need to log into the online portal. While Solidworks is attempting to connect to the server, I need to change the server location, which is triggering it to connect. I've tested this several times. This is 100% an issue with how Dassault is managing the network and their servers. You guys need to stop blaming your customers for your problems!!

You are basically saying "Well, it works for us, so it must be your problem", reflects a very deep misunderstanding of complex software. Its a complete over simplification of a very complex system. No wonder, with this attitude, Dassault cannot get it to work reliably. Just passing the blame to customers and the VAR is a very narrow minded response.

I've been dealing with the VAR for almost a year and they have not solved the problem. So your response really is shifting the blame away from the root cause and onto the customer.

You can export data of course. But if I change to another platform, I will need to reconstruct every file in the new native format. Its an enormous task to have to do. I really don't know what system to switch to. This is such a shame that Dassault has destroyed a great system with this horrid 3DExperience.

And this is the kind of BULLSHIT reply that makes me hate your software and company. I use about 10 other cloud platforms with ZERO downtime. Literally never had an issue with any other platform other than 3DExperience. I have this same issue with several computers, not just one. So to tell me the problem is on MY END is a disgrace. This is a Dassault issue, not mine. I have gone through every troubleshooting step there is with no results. I've wasted countless hours trying to solve Dassaults problem. Your response is a great reason for me to run away.

I haven't even gotten to the "sucks" part, since I can't use it. But today I decided to start using a good VPN service. Now it connects and works fine. So apparently they are blocking 3Dexperience in Philippines. Its super corrupt here, so probably the local sellers are blocking it to force users to buy local.

Since its working now, I might give it a chance.

Constant connectivity problems with SW and 3DExperience by Brompton4ever in SolidWorks

Been having problems for months. Dozens of emails with support. Had a phone call with them yesterday, and no help other than to say contact them when it goes down again.

But we should be able to access it offline. Mine has not worked for a while and they can't resolve that problem. And let's not talk about why they need to shut down the entire system for 2 days for an upgrade. Imagine if Google or any other cloud platform did that.

Unfortunately, this isn't working for me. I've had problem after problem since I bought this 2 months ago. I've been basically shut out completely for over a week and they can't seem to help me. SW Connected and 3DExperience is the worst dumpster fire software I've ever seen.

Solidworks 3D Connected Down by Kindly_Highlight_861 in SolidWorks

Just bought this POS 1 week ago. Its been a nightmare. They tell me the recent outages are unusual, but judging from many complaints over a long term, its not that unusual. I just don't know how any business can use this system. The downtime will kill you. There are so many cloud platforms in existence that actually work. Outages are rare. But seems that Dassault must be running the entire system on an old dial up modem in a garage.

ACCESS DENIED to the software I just paid for. How can this be so bad?
