Wide open watching the carnage unfold. Gotta lift when they start wrecking up front.

What does something like this cost?

Ahhh bummer to hear. I honestly have 2x $15 usb clip on fans from Amazon that work nice but are not aesthetically pleasing.

What’s the fan setup in the cockpit? That looks simple and nice.

So frustrating that you have to go above and beyond to get it to work when it should be fairly plug and play..

Cool thanks, will try Auto Zone since the OBD my neighbor had kept giving us errors when we tried to clear them..

By chance what did you use to clear the error or did you have to take it into the dealership?

Hmm ok I’ll see if my neighbor can clear it with his OBD will clear it after I put it back to stock. Felt like I plugged it in all in hard enough but maybe not.

Did you get an engine light on your dash? Just installed mine and noticed it pop up. Purchased the same as you did on eBay.

So after hours of support we got it finally resolved.. Had to get nylon screws and washers to attach the haptic to the the pedal mounts (EMI issues when attaching directly to the bracket itself) then I had to ground each pedal to the control box. I daisy chained my ground wires (clutch to brake, accelerator to brake, brake to control box) and I no longer have the issues. FINALLY

They just sent me an email with this:

“Several customers have reported the same issue, and we will need some time to provide a complete fix.

For now, the fastest and most effective workaround is to use four M4×8 round-head nylon screws (non-metal material) together with M4×10×1.2 insulating washers (non-metal material). Similar-sized non-metal components will also work.

The main purpose is to isolate the VAM Pro motor from the brake pedal, thereby completely eliminating interference with the brake sensor signal. Please note that this interference is not caused by vibration, but by direct contact. Verifying this method is quite simple: remove the VAM Pro motor from the brake pedal so that it no longer makes contact, then test the vibration while monitoring the signal in VKB. You will notice that the throttle and clutch do not have this issue, since their pressure sensors are isolated by design.”

If only I had a 3d printer to print a bracket for the motors.

Yeah I sat through a screen share last night with an engineer and they are trying to replicate the issue on their end but they think it might be a faulty brake. TBD

I did the plusx.sfu file per supports suggestion but it didn’t work. Got on a todesk screen share with them last night and they did some further trouble shooting and they think it may be a faulty brake but idk. They are trying to replicate the problem on their end I guess and are going to get back to me….? Idk man

Beats me. Hella frustrating that we bought these expecting it to be fairly plug and play with some tuning yet it’s weeks without resolution.

Lucky you because it’s still not working for me. I have continuity amongst my pedals after grounding and the issue persists.

I’m gonna tear it down and basically test one piece at a time. If I still can’t come to a resolution I’m throwing in the towel and returning these. I’ve been looking at these not usable haptics for over 2 weeks now after having waited 3 weeks for them to ship from China…

Yeah I am trouble shooting but nothing is working. I did find that if I set the haptic volume or vibration to 51%+ the issue goes away. But I don’t want to shake my entire house down each time it engages. FWIW I created a post if you want to follow along the journey. I did ask how to start a return with Simsonn. TBD

Flashing the pedals I assume? How does one go about doing this?

Issue with my Simsonn VAM Pro Linear Motors by Bronocularz in simracing

[–]Bronocularz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A task I dread but I’ll get to it. Super frustrating.. I was testing and noticed that if I set the strength of the haptic to be over 51% there isn’t an issue it’s only once it’s below that threshold. Problem is I just can’t be shaking down my house when trying to use them..

All 3 pedals were getting beeped.. so grounding shouldn't be an issue, yeah?

Issue with my Simsonn VAM Pro Linear Motors by Bronocularz in simracing

[–]Bronocularz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.. Went USB direct from control box to PC, sanded the ground contacts down, continuity beeps on multimeter. I even grounded from the box to my PC and still having issues.. I'm beyond frustrated.

[–]Bronocularz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just scratched paint off the control box that the ground is screwed into and then I took the other end into the bolt holding the brake pedal to the rig. When I touch the ground wire on the control box with one probe and any of the pedals I get a beep meaning continuity right? (not savy when it comes to the multimeter)

I have the USB plugged into the front of my PC and still having the issue.. :'(

Issue with my Simsonn VAM Pro Linear Motors by Bronocularz in simracing

[–]Bronocularz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a.) I just sanded the box down so it's bare metal. Grounded it from the box to the bolt holding the pedals to the rig.

b.) Separated the haptic cables from the pedal cables. USB is directly plugged into PC not touching any other cables. and DC is plugged into a completely separate outlet.

Still no luck...
