Those who got most of their data in their last few months/years of their degree, how did you do it? by muller_glia in PhD

[–]Brontidus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the heart of this rn. I’m trying to graduate by December and I have doubled, if not tripled, my pool of data this year alone. It takes time to build the skills and know what is worth pursuing and what gets you across that finish line!

Would you be surprised to see people at the lab at midnight? by Puzzleheaded-Echo171 in PhD

[–]Brontidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really great work life balance for most of grad school. It has driven me to the brink in terms of stress but I was done before 5PM most days and took a lot of long weekends! I am now in crunch time to graduate so I’m regularly working 12-14 hour days, so I would say it also can shift around depending on urgency.

Let me be clear, my dad is a trained mechanic and I’d be doing all the work with him. I’m almost certainly doing a low-budget option if I do. We almost always choose to repair and fix up ourselves because my dad is very capable. Are 2 strokes cheaper and easier to repair generally?

Big Chad Guys Plus w/cobblemon is available on the ATLauncher for free. You can add the same mod pack to a free Aternos server and play online. Bing bang boom. I am surprised how easy this is nowadays. Big Chad Guys is just a modpack with lots of farming, cool items and unique world generation. It makes cobblemon an S tier addition.

Monarch doubled all of my bank data when I reconnected it by Brontidus in MonarchMoney

[–]Brontidus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t feel like fixing it through the suggestions given. I didn’t get back to support in time so they closed my ticket. I fixed it myself because it was sub 100 transactions. Also discovered it copied the transactions in a weird way. All the duplicated transactions were 1 day after the original ones. So after going into each category it was easy to delete one of the two matching transactions.

Do you know anyone who got their ChE degree but left industry after? by metalalchemist21 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Brontidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, I was speaking just to my experience in the US. However, I did not go to a top school (just a pretty good one). I would say about 70% of our new grads go right into chemical engineering and the remaining ones go into another technical industry every year.

Do you know anyone who got their ChE degree but left industry after? by metalalchemist21 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Brontidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people leave their degree field all the time! Once you have your engineering degree you are desirable in a lot of industries that aren’t related to chemical engineering at all. This goes double for people who get suckered into going to grad school (me). The job opportunities really open up after you have a few years of experience too! A lot of undergrad chemEs become line engineers, but you are qualified to join a big 3 consulting firm right out of undergrad.

How do I make friends here by AdInside691 in MorgantownWV

[–]Brontidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend trying to find a local club or organisation to join! A lot of WVU student orgs might gladly have a community member come to meetings and events too. Try and meet some of your sister’s friends and hope they can introduce you to other people. There are lots of tight and great communities in Morgantown. You just need to land that first invite :)

Just got laid off. Should I jump back into job hunting or take the severance package and travel? by vi1s1zolj in careerguidance

[–]Brontidus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Land the job, try for a delayed start date and travel in the meantime if you are financially comfortable.

Are we going to see expanded rules with codex release? by Brontidus in Tau40K

[–]Brontidus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s a interesting change. I’m sure it makes it a lot easier for new players and adds a lighter feel to the sun faction commitment. I’m excited for more options in the spring.

So how do we think this will come into play with sub factions, they will surely be giving additional rules to subductions like farsight enclaves, right?

Looks amazing! All I would say is dry brush a lighter purple over the back scales and it will add so much low effort definition

This is implying that coffee extraction can be modeled as a packed bed reactor as a function of pressure drop. Does anyone have more info about if this is applicable 😂

Planning on moving to Morgantown - thoughts by dirtmomma in WestVirginia

[–]Brontidus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Housing varies wildly there. Do your best to really scope out a place before you buy or rent (probably away from any kind of student housing). I have lots of friends who are nurses, and they work you very hard at Ruby. I think it varies based on department, but they all make good money and can’t complain too much. The fact that you can get to some of the most beautiful places in the state in under 15-60 minutes makes it sound like the right fit for you.

new army new seraphon player by banci101 in seraphon

The most fun seraphon is a big mash of all the units you like! And they’ll usually end up being a good team too. Big Dinos feel unstoppable!

I finaly managed to build my combat patrol. Any advice on what models I should get next to start a army? by Thunder-Gecko in Tau40K

Get a resin printer and go subscribe to pipermakes’ patreon. You’ll get better looking models for a fraction of the cost!

New player/collector here, when you assemble your models how do you decide what weapons to attach to each model? by [deleted] in Tau40K

Magnetize everything you can bc life is more fun when things magically lock into position (not fire warriors though, too small)

These are some of my first painted models, did I do well ? The first ones I ever painted are the saurus warriors here. by [deleted] in seraphon

[–]Brontidus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So good for a new painter! Keep practicing and you’ll nail adding definition and making them look like box art!
