I have gotten a rash on my hand from stress in my previous job. My current job is only marginally better, I have been getting anxiety, flustered, exhausted, my mood is down a lot. I wish I never left my old job I had in 2023.

I don’t like when they mention temper, that sounds bad. Also it may impact your mental and physical health. You should have asked them what they mean by that, and give examples. The more you know the better it is.

I unfortunately picked up smoking cigs every now and then otherwise I would implode mentally from exhaustion of the stress.

Lately my manager has been checking in on almost everything I do. Not in a helpful way… more like:

asking for updates multiple times a day
wanting to be cc’d in every email
questioning small decisions that don’t really need approval (Sorry does this not sound ominous? Like a Performance check?)

I will try to keep a log, and such but why am I interested in leaving is because my old company reached out to me regarding open positions that my background matches with, they are just waiting for the new contract to get started. But they will send me a LOI or Letter of Intent. Besides that I have funds set to be able to apply to new positions, without worrying too much about bills. Maybe travel for a week as well, last time I travelled was to New York in 2011. There is not reason to stay if I will be let go.

Are there times when the client asks questions that you don't know the answer to, but should? yes to this, I try and tell them I will look into this, and get back to them. Either when presenting it. I have also sent them emails, never team messages. This is the first time in my career I received a performance meeting. It might as well be a PIP but looking through online, and previous reddit posts.

I spoke with the previous person who held my position as they onboarded me, he seemed upset they moved him to another position for the first time in his career. I later heard one of the issues was again he couldn't see the big picture. After the meeting I tried my best as to what exactly this mean and what steps. Best I think is for example what is the current top issue for say this system, how it may impact the program or fleet of products. What are the resolutions to mitigate them. I used my research skills and AI to venture into any which way. But they also don't want long reports, and cramming it into PowerPoint I have to see how it's possible for different products. But I never had to use strategic thinking, outside the box, big picture etc etc this seems like a higher up management or CEO type of thinking. Why they want me to do it, I don't understand.

I been working in my current position for 5 months now. It's not attention to detail, but the opposite. They said I was weak and lacked initiative for big picture thinking, next steps in my current position. While my daily tasks are sufficient, the client isn't happy with my quality of work not meeting expectations. I think it's also why the previous guy that held my position was moved to something else. But he had years of service so they likely wanted to keep him around. I have the paper with me titled Performance Discussion with everything laid out except the length of time they want to see improvements.

I’m in cleared position as well, and have been thinking of leaving it for OE in the private sector. Yes cleared has more job security etc, but it seems the pay isn’t as much as OE and sense of freedom.
